The Blast: 'Pawn Stars' Chumlee celebrates engagement amid over 100-pound weight loss update

Austin Lee Russell is an American actor and reality TV personality known as Chumlee, best known for being a cast member of the History Channel’s ‘Pawn Stars.’ The show is about the Gold and Silver Pawn shop where Chumlee works. He recently celebrated his engagement, and The Blast has the scoop.

He recently got engaged.

The pawn shop employee is currently celebrating his engagement to Olivia Rademann, and they recently took a trip to Las Vegas with her family and his brother. They dined at Andiamo Italian Steakhouse. His life seems to be going pretty well.

In May, the reality star posted a picture on his Instagram of Olivia wearing her new diamond ring with the caption, ‘Now you know.’ Meanwhile, Chumlee has been busy taking care of his body after getting a gastric sleeve surgery.

He recently lost 100 pounds.

The reality star weighed around 342 lbs before his surgery. He had already lost 38 lbs. as part of the pre-operation restrictions. After the surgery, he lost 114 lbs., putting his total weight at 114 lbs. The procedure was performed at Warm Springs Surgical Center with Blossom Bariatrics.

Chumlee talked about his weight on the day of the surgery while filming a video, ‘I've been down, I've been up, I've been down, I've been up. So, when you need a little help to stay down, this is where you come. I've already lost 38 lbs. on my pre-op diet.’

He continued, ‘They recommend you do it for a couple of weeks, but I've been doing it for about five or six weeks now. So that's going to make my goal to get to 200 lbs. a lot better, a lot easier.’ His goal is to weigh less than 200 lbs. and his ideal would be 180 lbs.

Another ‘Pawn Stars’ member had the same procedure.

Corey Harrison had his surgery back in 2010, after reaching the whopping weight of 402 lbs. After the procedure, he was able to get down to 210 lbs. Harrison decided to go under the knife after his doctor had given him a prescription for preventative diabetes pills.

According to PopCulture, Harrison said, ‘I literally drove straight from the doctor to the lap band center and had the surgery almost immediately. Back then, the surgery was too expensive for my bank account, so I had to pay with four credit cards, but it was something I had to do – I was not going to get diabetes!’

After hearing about Harrison’s experience, Chumlee started dieting and lost almost 100 lbs. However, he gained the weight back. ‘I started at 320 lbs. and now I’m down to 225. When I first began, I eliminated all processed foods except mustard. Now, ‘everything in moderation’ is my motto.’

After losing the weight

Chumlee took to Instagram recently to share a video, so his followers were able to see the weight loss for themselves. He shows a pair of 42-sized shorts and his current 34-sized jeans. Everyone was floored by the difference.

While Chumlee’s life seems to be going great, ‘Pawn Star’s recently suffered a huge loss. Richard ‘Old Man’ Harrison, the patriarch of the clan, died last June after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease. We send their family our deepest condolences.

Tribute

Meanwhile, the owner of the Gold and Silver Pawn shop, Rick Harrison, has decided to open a new store in Las Vegas. It's located next door to the pawn shop, and it will have more interesting things for sale, picked by Rick himself. The store will also have a tribute to ‘Old Man’ inside. According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, it’s set to open in August.

Legal trouble

Chumlee’s life hasn’t been easy at all. Back in 2016, his house was raided by police due to the sexual harassment allegations made against him. They found several illegals substances in the premises and a weapon. Another investigation discovered more firearms that were legally owned.

All the weapons were discovered in the vault along with several bottles of Xanax and seven capsules of meth. Police officers also state that there was another dangerous drug in the residence, so they arrested Chumlee that month. He was charged with 20 felony counts but released on bond the next day.

Personal details

Meanwhile, Chumlee loves collecting shoes, and he has more than 200 pairs. His favorite pastimes are playing Pokemon, other video games and skateboarding. His favorite TV series are ‘Sons of Anarchy,’ ‘Breaking Bad,’ and ‘Boardwalk Empire.’

He has an affinity for cars, as he owns a 1986 Buick Regal, a Rolls-Royce Phantom, a Maserati GranTurismo, an Escalade, a Range Rover and a 1964 Impala SS. Clearly, ‘Pawn Stars’ makes more money than we imagined.

Inspiration

Back in 2013, Chumlee was first inspired to change his dangerous eating habits due to the death of his father. The 54-year-old died after a battle with pancreatic cancer, one of the most dangerous types of cancer ever.

This happened before the debut of ‘Pawn Stars.’ He lost almost 75 lbs. during that time, making him able to ride a hovercraft that he had bought before but couldn’t use because of his weight. It was built to resist less than 250 lbs.

Career

After the debut of ‘Pawn Stars,’ Chumlee became an instant favorite character of the viewers. He’s also a big internet meme with his line ‘I don’t know Rick; it looks fake.’ Thanks to the success of the show, Chumlee was able to start his own company.

He sells collectible things, T-shirts and even makes personal appearances. He sold half of the company in 2010 to Rick Harrison, so they could expand business and handle things better when it comes to shipping and advertising. He also owns a candy shop, located down the street from the pawn shop.

It seems that the gastric sleeve procedure has been beneficial for the ‘Pawn Stars’ cast members, and Chumlee looks amazing after his weight loss. We hope our readers take care of themselves because health is the most important thing in the world. Check out Chumlee’s transformation below.
