Tony Stark Literally Spilled Out The Plot Of 'Avengers 4' In The First Movie And Fans Just Realized
Fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe were shocked by the ending of 'Avengers: Infinity War.' No one had predicted that our favorite superheroes would disappear in that manner. However, fans have found evidence suggesting that Tony Stark knew it was going to happen sooner or later. Let's see what this theory entails.
If you remember the first 'Avengers' movie, then you also recall what Tony told Loki during their conversation at Stark Tower; when Loki asked what he had to fear, Tony said, 'The Avengers.'
'It's what we call ourselves. It's sort of like a team. Earth's mightiest heroes type-thing.' Then he implies that due to numbers Loki was doomed to succeed with his plan.
Tony goes to list the members of the Avengers like Thor, Cap, Black Widow, Hulk, Hawkeye, and himself. 'You've managed to piss off every single one of them.'
Stark keeps going, 'There is no version of this where you come out on top. Because if we can't protect the Earth, you can be sure we'll avenge it.' Luckily, the team was able to defeat Loki.
However, the ending of 'Infinity War' was very different. It featured a lot more characters fighting against Thanos, and yet, when he completed the stones, he made half of the universe disappear.
The team failed to stop him from retrieving each stone, and even Doctor Strange says that it was the only way. Spiderman's scene was particularly emotional.
Reddit user DonTommy remarked that Stark's words to Loki in the first 'Avengers' movie became a self-fulfilling prophecy. Now, the team needs to avenge the whole universe.
Furthermore, now the team has something to avenge. They had not tasted defeat in previous movies, as they won all battles. 'Avengers 4' might be the final movie, and now they get to live up to their name.
Which makes us question whether Nick Fury knew what was going to happen, and therefore named it 'The Avengers Initiative.' It's clear that he wanted to be prepared for something big.
Moreover, there are other examples of Tony predicting what was coming. In 'Avengers: Age of Ultron,' the Scarlet Witch makes him see the death of the team.
The setting of that vision looks almost like Titan in 'Infinity War' which might be a coincidence, but maybe not. However, none of the original Avengers disappear in that movie, but some of his new friends did die.
Clearly, Tony is very smart to foreshadow some of the major events in the Avengers movies, or his paranoid thoughts became a reality. Now, we'll have to see what happens next.
On the other hand, Iron Man is not the only Avenger that had visions of the future, specifically the Infinity Gauntlet. Thor has been hit with prophetic visions that were very important in 'Infinity War.'
During 'Age of Ultron,' Thor sees a vision when he got into a pool called the Water of Sight. He was mesmerized by it, so he talked to the whole team to gauge their thoughts.
That's the fan-favorite scenes where Vision takes Thor's hammer and hands it to him. Meanwhile, everyone was blown away by the fact that he could lift the hammer that only Thor can.
According to Thor, his vision was 'a whirlpool that sucks in all hope of life, and at its center is that' pointing to the stone on Vision's forehead, which we find out later is the mind stone.
Moreover, the Infinity Gauntlet ends up with the Mind Stone in the center, which could be intentional or it's simply the order in which Thanos collected them. This picture is clearly fake.
Therefore, it seems that Thor really predicted what happened at the end of the movie because he sees a sort of fist with the stones in the exact position used by the Infinity Gauntlet.
Remember when Ebony Maw said that no man had been able to handle more than two stones at once? Well, Thor saw that someone would try. Remember the post-credits scene of 'Age of Ultron?'
Thanos could be seen getting the gauntlet in the first place. So, there's something to be said about Tony and Thor's prediction, and it's fascinating how the writers have put the story together.
We can't wait to see what happens when 'Avengers 4' hits theaters next year. It's going to be the cinematic event of the decade because everyone will rush to get tickets. We just hope it lives up to our high expectations. If you liked this article, share it with your friends. See you next time!
