Gossip Girl Cast: Where They Now

The famous CW teen drama Gossip Girl featured the lives of the rich kids of the Upper East Side in New York City. The show amassed a considerable following over its six seasons on the air, and everyone was sad when it was canceled in 2012. Luckily, we have some details about the actors and what they are doing now.

Leighton Meester – Blair Waldorf

The Queen B of Constance Billard, Blair had an amazing character growth over the course of the series, as she was often the mean girl, but everyone loved her by the end. Leighton is married to Adam Brody, known for the teen drama The O.C. and they have a daughter together. The couple appeared in the 2014 film Life Partners.

"I think we're a pretty modern couple. I think we sort of toggle back and forth... we both work, but also being actors, I think we understand each other, what we're both going through."

Ed Westwick – Chuck Bass

He was known as the bad boy at the beginning of the teen drama; however, just like Blair, his character evolved so that every fan fell in love by the end of the show. People would love to see a revival of the famous series, but Ed told Radio Times that he would not be interested as he has moved with shows like Snatch and White Gold.

"And I haven't done enough in between yet to feel like I could comfortable revisit it. And I did so much with that character — it's played out, man. It's done."

Unfortunately, after the rise of the #MeToo movement, Westwick was accused of sexual assault by three women, though documents emerged stating that there was no evidence to prove those allegations. For now, he is considered innocent.

Blake Lively – Serena Van Der Woodsen

Serena was the “it” girl of the Upper East Side, and every fan wanted to be as gorgeous as the actress, who rocked the most stylish clothes during the six seasons of the series. It was amazing to see such a character fall in love with the underdog of the show, considering her bad girl and adventurous ways. We all knew she would end up with Dan Humphrey.

The actress is married to Ryan Reynolds and is the mother of two gorgeous girls, but she has also continued her acting. Blake recently celebrated her sixth anniversary with Reynolds, reminiscing about their small, intimate ceremony at home. The actress is ten times more beautiful than she was on the show because her maturity simply shines.

Chace Crawford – Nate Archibald

At the beginning of the show, Nate was the boy everyone at school had a crush on. He was a relatively lovely guy with a serious girlfriend, though he fell for Serena and cheated on Blair. His character went on to date many other girls, becoming more of a Casanova than Chuck Bass, but in real life, the actor is much more mature than Nate.

After Gossip Girl, Chace had a bit of trouble moving on with his career, but luckily, things seem to be doing better as he had a baseball movie titled Undrafted in 2016, as well as being cast in the lead in Blood & Oil. Additionally, Crawford met his current girlfriend, Rebecca Rittenhouse, on the set of his new show, and they look beautiful together.

Penn Badgley – Dan Humphrey

The underdog, brooding, aspiring writer, Dan Humphrey managed to land the gorgeous girl on the Upper East Side. The character did not have the same privileges as his high school friends because his family was not wealthy, but he attended the prestigious St. Judes School on a partial scholarship, though he craved to fit into the high society of New York.

After the show ended, the actor played the role of Jeff Buckley in the movie Greetings from Tim Buckley, and after a break, landed a role in Cymbeline while also performing with his band, Mothxr. Penn is married to Domino Kirke and is currently acting on Lifetime’s You, but we’re just glad that he’s not “Lonely Boy” anymore.

Connor Paolo – Eric Van Der Woodsen

Serena’s little brother always seemed more insightful than his wild sister and was there for everyone, including Jenny, when they needed him. He was also the gay character of the show. Unfortunately, when the actor was cast on Revenge, the character appeared sporadically until he disappeared completely, brought back just for the final episode.

Taylor Momsen – Jenny Humphrey

Jenny was arguably the most controversial character on the show, starting out as an innocent girl from Brooklyn who wanted to fit into society just like her brother, Dan. However, over the years, as the actress grew up and got into punk rock, the style transferred to the character, not to mention, her proneness for scandal.

Taylor left the show and officially quit acting to continue her career as a rock musician with her band, The Pretty Reckless.

"Music is where I can be me. Acting is easy. I've been doing it for so long and I totally love it. But you're playing a character instead of yourself. Music is more personal because you're writing it and you're involved in every step of it."

Zuzanna Szadkowski – Dorota Kishlovsky

She was Blair’s maid and one of the favorite characters on the show. Some people even speculate that she was the Gossip Girl, though she was utterly devoted to Blair, who was very dependent on her. The actresses are even best friends in real life. Since the end of the show, Zuzanna has appeared on shows like The Knick, Girls, Elementary, and more.

Michelle Trachtenberg – Georgina Sparks

The character was introduced as Serena’s best friend from her party days, and that girl did some very questionable things like trying to deceive Dan several times, making him believe he was her baby daddy and more crazy things. After the show ended, the actress moved on to series like Sleepy Hollow, Criminal Minds, Sister Cities, and more.

Jessica Szohr – Vanessa Abrams

Abrams started as Dan’s best friend, though as the show progressed, they ended up hating each other and the character left to study abroad. Since the finale, the actress has appeared in several films, but in 2015, she went back to TV with the series Complications and Kingdom.

We would love to see a revival of the series, though it seems pretty impossible because most of the actors are not interested, and everyone already knows who Gossip Girl is. Spoiler alert: It’s Dan. If you liked this article, share it with your friends with a juicy piece of gossip. See you next time!
