16 Superhero Movies That Are Most Expected By True Fans In 2019

1With just a couple of months left, we can say that this year has been a good year for superhero movies. We got to see many different heroes in their own movie, others joining forces to defeat evil forces, Thanos collected the infinitive stones to snap away half the galaxy, and many others like Aquaman where we will get to see his story as in Venom.

If 2018 was to be taking as an example, it looks like 2019 will be even more exciting for us superhero fans. Therefore, we have gathered all the new upcoming movies for next year in this article.

1. Glass

It comes as no surprise that M. Night Shyamalan wants to create a universe based on his most successful movies, not including The Sixth Sense. In this movie, we are going to see James McAvoy from Split, Bruce Willis and Samuel L. Jackson; both of them from Unbreakable.

Admittedly, this mix of actors marks the beginning of what could be a fantastic movie with the potential of being a hit. Furthermore, we hope that this would launch a series of movies like those at Marvel Studios. Glass is set to come out on January 18, 2019.

2. Hellboy

The Hellboy remake seems to be a brave challenge taken up by director Neil Marshall. Especially after the renounce success among fans of Hellboy by Guillermo del Toro. In the original movies, del Toro was able to convert from the comic successfully in such a manner that fans felt did justice to the original material.

Nevertheless, director Marshall has a well-known track record that certainly leaves him on the right path to make a great movie out of Hellboy. With episodes like “Blackwater” and “The Watchers on the Wall from Game of Thrones, we can breathe easier knowing he is in charge of this beloved movie. The movie that will come out on January 11, 2019.

3. X-Men: Dark Phoenix

Recent movies that depict the X-Men in their beginnings have had a downhill journey, leaving the reputation of the franchise on low levels. To the extent that fans felt distressed when it was announced they would be taking on the Dark Phoenix story, a beloved comic of the X-Men.

The hope is for director Simon Kinberg to rescue the movie with his own brand of uniqueness, as it happened with First Class and its director Michael Vaughn. This movie is programmed to come out February 14, 2019.

4. Captain Marvel

Captain Marvel is especially awaited by fans for many reasons. Among those facts, we find that this particular superhero is one of the most powerful in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the lead is female, its setting is in the 1990s, and is a never seen before hero.

Continuing with Marvel’s trend for secrecy, we know that the movie will take place before Avengers 4 on the timeline and it will explain why we have not met Captain Marvel before. Furthermore, the cast is composed of Samuel L. Jackson, Jude Law, and Ben Mendelsohn. There are high hopes for this movie that is coming out March 8, 2019.

5. Avengers 4

After the sad grand finale in Infinity War, many fans have speculated what comes next. The working theory is that they will continue the story focusing on time travel. However, it is still unclear what it this would mean for the fallen heroes.

The amount of mystery is not normal, as we do not even know the real name of the movie. Nevertheless, as we have said before, this is normal for Marvel. Maybe a publicity stunt to keep us fans on the edge of our seats. This movie will be out on May 3, 2019, and we cannot wait!

6. Shazam!

Shazam! Is a movie many fans have expected after they watched the movie trailer since it had a fun tone with bright colors. Much different from DC usual trend with determined practicality and dark colors like the movie Man of Steel.

This movie could be the big break DC needs to compete against Marvel. It will be out April 5, 2019.

7. Gambit

After a rocky start with a long line of possible directors for the movie, it looks like the main actor Channing Tatum will finally get to do Gambit. It is a wonder Tatum has stock with the project after postponing it for many years.

We hope this time around the movie could be finally filmed. It would be released on June 7, 2019.

8. Spider-Man: Far from Home

Since Tom Holland had the opportunity to portray Spider-Man, fans have been excited about the remake of this superhero. Despite the unfortunate event of him, disintegrating after Thanos snapped his fingers, it is comforting to know that our web-making hero is coming back in Spider-Man: Far from Home.

The director will be once again Jon Watts. In addition, the cast will be composed of Michael Keaton as Vulture and Jake Gyllenhaal as Mysterio. The movie will come out in theaters on July 5, 2019.

9. The New Mutants

The New Mutants is a horror movie made by Fox. It is categorized as the thirteenth spin-off of X-Men and the most unusual of the lot. Nonetheless, it has had a few too many bumps along the way like almost half of the movie had to be reshot.

What we really like is that we are going to get to see brilliant actors like Maisie Williams from Game of Thrones and Charlie Heaton from Stranger Things’. This movie will be aired in movie theaters on August 2, 2019.

10. Joker

First shocking news, we would not get to see Jared Leto in this Joker movie. Instead, we are getting Joaquin Phoenix along with director Martin Scorsese. Phoenix may give us a much needed serious view of the character and not so crazy like we have seen so far in the previous Jokers.

The speculation goes along the lines that this movie can either answer some thoughtful concerns or complicate our view of the DC universe even more. Whatever way it is, we are sure not going to miss the opportunity of seeing it on October 4, 2019.

11. Wonder Woman 1984

Following the success of Wonder Woman, DC decided fairly quickly to make a sequel for this special woman. Making sure to get back Gal Godot along with Patty Jenkins. We have to note that this movie initiated conversation on a much-needed subject of gender equality with female empowerment as directors and leading characters.

We are not sure if riding on the past magic will keep functioning. However, we will just have to wait and see. This movie is going to be released on November 1, 2019.

12. Suicide Squad 2

Suicide Squad 2 is DC chance to regain the ground they lost with Suicide Squad. The first movie was just confusing, it had Will Smith, they were premiering a new Joker, and it looked like a good idea. It had all the potential of being an amazing movie, but we do not what happened along the way.

Hopefully, by giving this movie to a new director, Gavin O’Connor, the DC franchise could get a leg up in the world of superheroes. This movie does not have a date set for release as of yet.

13. Reign of the Supermen

Reign of the Supermen is the sequel to The Death of Superman. It is a kind of animated movie where we hope show some doubts about being excessive and ignore not completely the use of computer-generated imagery.

It could very well become the most unclear movie of next year. Furthermore, we are not even sure if it is going to be made. Should it happened, it is expected to release in 2019.

14. The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part

You would not believe that this Lego movie should be on this list. However, we do think it should be considered a superhero movie because in it we can find Batman, Superman, and The Green Hornet. The allure of this movie is in the mock-loving scenario it has going on with the above mention superheroes.

For this sequel, all the superheroes in The Lego Movie will come back, except Wonder Woman, who would be substituted by Harley Quinn in Lego form. Maybe Margot Robbie will further mature her character in this second chance. The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part will be released February 8, 2019.

15. John Wick 3: Parabellum

John Wick 3: Parabellum is the much-awaited third chapter in this superhero’s story. Even though Wick does not have any superpowers, he has at his disposal his intelligence, strength to defeat his enemies and his riches. In this movie, we are going to see him fighting and running through the streets of New York with a $14 million reward on his head.

This movie will come out May 17, 2019.

16. Charlie's Angels

This Charlie’s Angels movie is going to be a remake of the same name movie released back in 2000. It is going to come back with Kristen Stewart, Naomi Scott, and Ella Balinska to tackle the crime. This trio of women has in their hands the high job of filling in on the legacy of the original trio composed of Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore, and Lucy Liu.

We hope they are up to the task and that director Elizabeth Banks can balance out the movie to make it significant to the audience. It will be released on September 27, 2019.
