20 Things That Harry Potter And Ginny Got Themselves Into After Deathly Hallows
Harry Potter is still just as popular today as it was years ago when the original movies came out, especially due to the new Fantastic Beasts sequel coming out soon. We know that 19 years went by between Deathly Hallows and The Cursed Child, so many things happened in that period of time.
But, what exactly happened? Was the gang bored after their intense years at Hogwarts? We would have loved to see more of Harry and Ginny relationship since it was not really shown in the books. Therefore, we have gathered those details in this article.
1. They obviously rekindled their love
The couple broke up at the end of The Half-Blood Prince because Harry was afraid that Ginny could become a casualty of the war. But it was a futile effort considering that she was still targeted because they knew Potter was close to the Weasleys.
Thus, they were not together during the great Battle of Hogwarts, but they probably started their relationship back up somewhere around 1998 and 2000. Their separation was horrible, but after things cooled down, they could be a couple once again.
2. They tied the knot
They obviously walked down the aisle, considering that they had three children and were still together at the end of Deathly Hallows. We do not know if exactly when they got married, but they started having children in 2005, and we do not if wizards have such free relationships.
3. Their two sons and one daughter
Their kids were James Sirius, Albus Severus, and Lily Luna. James was born somewhere between 2004 and 2005 due to his age in The Cursed Child. Meanwhile, Harry and Ginny were already established in their careers before starting a family.
4. Ginny graduated from Hogwarts
After the war was over, Kingsley Shacklebolt, the new Minister of Magic, gave the kids in Dumbledore Army’s the option of becoming Aurors without further studies. Harry and Ron took the offer and helped reform the Wizarding community after the mess with Voldemort.
On the other hand, Ginny and Hermione went back to school to graduate from Hogwarts. But, it is still unclear if Hermione had to remake her sixth year – she was living in secret while looking for Horcruxes – or was simply advanced to the seventh.
5. Harry and Dudley got along better
The Dursleys were never really important to the story, and we all hated them, but at least Dudley grew up, unlike his parents. Alas, the scene where they shake hand was cut out of the first part of the Deathly Hallows movie.
6. Harry and Ginny help raise Lupin’s child
Teddy Lupin lost his parents when he was a baby just like Harry, who was named the godfather of the child. It was revealed that Teddy grew with his grandmother, Andromeda Tonks, but Harry and Ginny were big in his life.
Helping raise Teddy taught the couple about children before they raised their own, and it was a soothing experience for Harry who had lost his godfather right after getting him back. We can assume that Teddy grew up with lots of love.
7. Ginny was a professional Quidditch player
Right after leaving Hogwarts, the youngest Weasley member was scouted for the Holyhead Harpies. She played with them for a couple of years, and we are assuming that she retired once she became pregnant with James Sirius. Just like her days on the Gryffindor team, she was a Chaser.
The Holyhead Harpies is the only all-female team in the United Kingdom Quidditch Association. It is also possible that Ginny met Gwenog Jones, who was part of the Slug Club and known for being a hothead on the field.
8. Harry’s own chocolate frog card
All famous wizards appear in the collectible cards, so it is not surprising that Potter was featured as well as Ron and Hermione. We can also assume that since Ginny was part of a famous Quidditch team, she also got her card.
9. Harry and Draco made up
They had a feud for most of their time at Hogwarts, but after the events of Deathly Hallows, it was clear that the Malfoys were not so bad after all. They suffered under Voldemort as well, and the family changed their way in the process.
They will never be close friends, but their relationship probably grew even more when their children became best friends at the train ride to the school. We know that the kids will remain close for the rest of their lives.
10. Ginny was also a writer
After retiring from Quidditch, Ginny went on to write for The Daily Prophet, as a Quidditch correspondent for the Sports Section. Her new profession is very similar to what real-life athletes do when they retire from their careers.
We can further assume that she traveled all over the world for the World Cups. In 2014, the tournament was held at the Patagonian Desert in a match between Brazil and Bulgaria and Ginny Potter and her family were there to witness the game.
11. Harry became Head Auror
After defeating the greatest dark wizard of all time and becoming Aurors, Harry and Ron worked together for two years. Ron decides to leave after that to help George with his joke shop, Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes, but Harry kept going.
Meanwhile, Hermione worked for the Department of Magical Law Enforcement. At the age of 26 or 27, Potter was promoted to Head Auror, making him the youngest wizard in history to achieve that top stop in the department.
12. Ginny did something to Rita Skeeter
During the 2014 Quidditch World Cup, Ginny covered the event along with Rita Skeeter for The Daily Prophet. The reporter was just as nasty as always, going so far as saying that Harry was desperate for publicity. Ginny was fed up and hexed the woman in the stomach.
13. A 2014 family trip
The family traveled together for the 2014 Quidditch World Cup, and they were seated at the VIP box. Albus was eight at the time and almost fell off, though Uncle Ron was able to save him. Additionally, the kids were introduced to Viktor Krum.
14. Snape’s portrait was placed in the Headmaster’s office
When a Headmaster dies, his portrait gets hung in the office at Hogwarts. After the battle in Hogwarts, many people were against having a Death Eater hanging with the rest, especially Albus Dumbledore.
Harry had to lobby for Snape’s spot in the wall, telling them that he became a double agent for the Order of Phoenix. It was the least Potter could do for the man who had secretly protected him and loved his mother all his life.
15. Harry owned Sirius’ flying motorcycle
The infamous motorcycle used to deliver Harry to safety on several occasions was a big part of The Sorcerer’s Stone. The bike was seen again in Deathly Hallows during the Battle of the Seven Potters, and naturally, Hagrid gave it to Harry.
16. Harry could no longer understand snakes
Talking to snakes was a big part of Harry’s time at Hogwarts, even if he did not know that it was something special. It was later revealed that he was never able to speak Parseltongue, but the part of the Voldermort that was living inside him did.
When they got rid of all the Horcruxes and the part of Voldemort stored in Harry, the ability disappeared. It would have been nice to keep it, but Potter definitely did not want to remember any part of the evil wizard.
17. Promotion for Ginny
We know from The Cursed Child, that after working for several years as Senior Quidditch Correspondent, Ginny was then promoted to editor of the sports section of The Daily Prophet. It must have been somewhere between 2014 and 2017.
18. Harry managed the Department of Magical Law Enforcement
Harry handled the Auror section of the Ministry for years, so he was naturally promoted to Head of the Department of Law Enforcement. It makes sense since Hermione became Minister of Magic. He is required to manage the most important department and probably handle the Wizengamot trials.
The position also means that he is in charge of the Improper Use of Magic Office, the Hit Wizards, and the administration sections, Misuse of Muggle Article and many others. Hopefully, there was no corruption during his tenure.
19. Reforming the Ministry of Magic
We saw all kinds of corruption in the Ministry in the books. When Kingsley Shacklebolt became Minister, they had to clean up a lot of messes on the inside. Meanwhile, Harry and Ron helped change the Auror office, and then Hermione came along after her Hogwarts graduation.
20. Ginny and Harry are godparents to Ron and Hermione’s kids
Their close friendship never faded, so in 2005, Harry and Ginny made Ron and Hermione godparents to James Sirius Potter. Later on, Hermione and Ron made them godparents to Rose Granger-Weasley. Therefore, they were godparents as well as uncles and aunts.
This stories that could be developed from this world are almost endless. We never tire of the Harry Potter franchise, and we hope to see more of it for the rest of our lives. We would like to see your opinion in the comment section. Come back for more wizard news.
