Below, we bring you the top ten of the most expensive weddings of all times. You cannot imagine who is in the first position. Keep reading and find it out!

10. Princess Victoria of Sweden and Daniel Westling Wedding

In June 2010, Sweden witnessed one of the greatest nuptials in all the history of the country. Princess Victoria tied the knots with her fitness trainer and gym owner Daniel Westling. The total cost of the event was estimated at $3 million, and it is not a surprise since more than 1,200 guests attended the big day.

They took the vows at the Stockholm Cathedral and then they went to the Royal Palace in a horse-drawn carriage. After riding through the capital of the country, the newlyweds enjoyed an opulent banquet. The bride looked stunning in a gown by Swedish designer Pär Engsheden.

9. Prince Al-Muhtadee Billah of Brunei and Sarah Salleh Wedding

On September 9, 2004, the heir of the Sultan of Brunei, age 30, got married to Sarah, a 17-year-old. The event was full of luxury, so no wonder why it cost around $6 million. The couple paraded Brunei's capital in a gold Rolls-Royce stretch limo, and this is a single example of the level of extravagance.

The procession also included 103 additional limos plus a marching band. To celebrate the nuptials, the bride and the groom invited more than 2,000 people to a banquet that took place the day after the ceremony. It was considered the Asian wedding of the year, and many foreign royals and heads of government attended.

8. Prince Pavlos of Greece and Marie-Chantal Miller Wedding

Although it took place in July 1995, these lovebirds allowed themselves a luxurious ceremony that was worth $8 million. Just the gown worn by the bride cost a whopping $225,000, and it was a beautiful customized Valentino Garavani piece encrusted with pearls that made Marie-Chantal look lavish.

The ceremony was held at St. Sophia’s Cathedral in London and was followed by a reception at the Hampton Court Palace with a decor of 100,000 flowers from Ecuador. And if one event is not enough, the couple had a pre-wedding celebration with 1,200 guests at Wrotham Park in Sevenoaks.

7. Princess Hajah Hafizah Sururul Bolkiah and Pengiran Haji Muhammad Ruzaini Wedding

On September 20, 2012, the fifth daughter of the Sultan of Brunei, wedded civil servant Pengiran Haji in a $20 million ceremony. Experts calculate that it cost $1,000 per guest, and it had more than 2,000 people on the list. Princess Hajah looked terrific in a beige and silver gown with crystals.

6. Prince Felipe of Asturias and Letizia Ortiz Rocasolano Wedding

The Spanish prince got hitched in May 2004 in front of 1,500 guests at Madrid's Almudena Cathedral. It is worth noting that this was the first royal wedding at that mentioned cathedral. The subsequent feast included a 7-foot-high cake and more than 1,000 bottles of champagne to delight the attendees.

That is why the ceremony cost $29 million. The former journalist donned a gown with gold details and a 14-foot-long train created by veteran Spanish designer Manuel Pertegaz. Pura López made her shoes, and Felipe gave her the white silk tulle veil as a gift.

5. Prince Abdul Malik and Dayangku Raabi'atul Adawiyyah Pengiran Haji Bolkiah

Being the youngest son of the Sultan of Brunei has certain benefits since his father, one of the wealthiest men in the world, spared no expense for his little son. Let's remember that this is the third wedding on our list by the royal family in Brunei, so we bet they were rolling in it.

4. Prince William of Wales and Kate Middleton Wedding

The British Crown splashed out on this wedding in April 2011, spending the staggering amount of $34 million, and that does not include other expenses like a wedding band for $11,000, or pre-ceremony events for $600,000. For sure, there was nothing ordinary in this prominent event.

For instance, Kate Middleton's wedding dress designed by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen cost $434,000. The cake was also a central point at the reception since it was a fruitcake decorated with 900 leaf and floral designs that was valued at $80,000. Additionally, the floral decor of the nuptials cost $800,000.

3. Prince Albert II and Charlene Wittstock Wedding

It is hard to believe that someone paid more for a wedding than William and Kate, but their investment was nothing compared to what Prince Albert spent when he tied the knots: $65 million. The royal from Monaco exchanged vows with former Olympic swimmer Charlene Wittstock in July 2011.

Just her gown was a shocking aspect of the wedding. Designed by Giorgio Armani, the dress was made of silk and embellished with pearls and 40,000 Swarovski crystals. Although the reception was not as big as the others (about 450 guests), the attendees enjoyed a stunning decor and delicious food prepared by chef Alain Ducasse.

2. Prince Charles and Lady Diana Spencer Wedding

The Prince of Wales surpassed his son when it came to footing the bill for his nuptials with Lady Diana Spencer in July 1981. The estimated cost for the event was $70 million, and it was almost 40 years ago. Just imagine that Princess Diana's gown had a price tag of $13,000 at that time.

It was a gorgeous custom wedding dress designed by David and Elizabeth Emanuel with embroidery, 10,000 pearls, and a 25-foot-long train. The couple exchanged vows at St. Paul's Cathedral in London, following a wedding breakfast for 120 guests at Buckingham Palace.
