Cap Plans Something Big In Avengers 4, Here's What His Plan May Be About

As we saw in the trailer for Avengers: Endgame, the world after the effects of Thanos’ snap is quite bleak, and all of our heroes seem to have lost all their hope. We have many questions about the next movie in the MCU which is set to change everything in the franchise, but it seems that Captain America has a plan in place. Let’s explore this idea more deeply.

The appearance of a seemingly lost person

One key point in the trailer was the fact that Scott Lang was able to return from the Quantum Realm after getting stuck there when his team was erased due to Thanos’ snap. We saw this happen in the post-credit scene of Ant-Man and The Wasp, and another important aspect is that Lang brought with him, the Quantum Tunnel located in the van.

There is a lot of speculation and theories out there that the Quantum Realm is going to play a significant role in saving the universe and maybe it will be used to time travel or something to that effect. At this point, it seems that our favorite heroes have nothing to live for any more as they all look devastated from not being able to stop Thanos, and they have nothing that would overpower someone with all six Infinity Stones.

The trailer also showed us a bit of Thor, who is the one hero who lost absolutely everything he holds dear, even before the Mad Titan snapped his fingers, which is now referred to as “The Decimation”. Thor lost his beloved Asgard in Thor: Ragnarok and the survivors were killed by Thanos and the Black Order. Additionally, he witnessed his best friend, Heimdall dying and his brother Loki, who we assume is really dead this time.

We also saw Tony Stark, one of the essential members of the Avengers, stranded in space with Nebula with no resources and a spaceship that is about to run out of oxygen. It was heartbreaking seeing Iron Man in such a defeated manner. However, the trailer also gave us a bit of hope because it looks like Steve Rogers and Natasha Romanoff have a plan.

A little hope

At this point, they have to try any plan they can come up with because there is nothing else to lose, but it is indeed great that they have devised something that could potentially help reverse the decimation. From what we know so far, and what the trailer showed us, it definitely has something to do with the Quantum Realm, and since Scott is the only one who goes in and out without getting lost, then he will play a major part.

Reducing someone to the size of an atom might not seem like the most ingenious way of fighting a villain, but we know something else is going on with that plane of existence. In the meantime, we have to ask ourselves how Scott managed to get out of the Quantum Realm without the help of Hank Pym, his wife or his daughter.

If they were all dusted, then no one actually knew that he was in that realm in the first place, and based in the trailer, even the Avengers think he disappeared like the rest of Thanos’ victims. It will be pretty exciting to figure out how he managed this feat, which could mean that he has learned how to get in and out, as well as possibly exploring more parts of that world without the danger that Janet Van Dyne faced.

There is also some speculation that someone else helped him get out, and who do we know that has control over different planes of existence? Doctor Strange. So, there are theories that state that Stephen will be able to communicate with Lang through his use of the Astral Dimension and the Quantum Realm, which are apparently connected somehow. This would also prove that the dusted heroes are alive.

The connection

The fact that the Quantum Realm and the Astral Dimension might be linked in any way is certainly one of the most interesting parts of the MCU. Due to leaked photos and reports from the set of both Infinity War and Endgame, there is speculation about time travel in the final movie as our heroes seemed to have recreated the Battle of New York from the first Avengers movie.

Furthermore, there were also several locations that looked like the 1940s, so if someone is not going back in time, maybe some flashbacks or the usage of the Quantum Realm can explain these scenes. After all, we saw something akin to time travel in Ant-Man and the Wasp when Scott met Janet Van Dyne.

In any case, Endgame might be focusing on the most crucial points of the MCU, and the key to defeating Thanos, or rather, stopping him from getting all the stones could have something to do with stopping Red Skull from obtaining the Tesseract or preventing Loki from getting the scepter containing the Mind Stone.

If Red Skull does not get involved with the Stones, then he won’t get trapped in Vormir to help people get to the Soul Stone. Additionally, if Captain America is the one who travels back in time, then he might not return to the future, which would make him disappear from the modern day era. On another matter, the Avengers might not even exist if Loki had not invaded Earth.

Cap’s sacrifice

Messing with time is a serious matter that could change the MCU completely, but if we take the word “endgame” to mean what it does in the game of chess, then sacrifices have to be made in order to win as Doctor Strange said. Steve Rogers is just desperate enough to give up everything to make this happen.

Additionally, there is the theory that only one point back in time will not be enough to change the course of events that led to Infinity War, so the belief that Endgame will show the most significant moments in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is entirely possible. Many things happened in the course of a decade, and looking back at them would be perfect for fans to say goodbye to Phase three.

Many people have speculated that Captain America might die in the next movie, after all, Chris Evans’ contract with Marvel is up, and rewriting history in the MCU could make for some exciting new future stories. But if the plan is not to go back in time, then it definitely involves Steve Rogers giving up his life for the sake of the universe.

What do you think is going to happen with Captain America? He cares about his friends and loved ones so much that this theory is entirely possible. We just have to wait and see how it develops. If you liked this article, share it with your friends while discussing the new trailer. See you next time!
