Princess Charlotte was little royal star until her and Prince Louis' Christmas photos comparison
Just like many average families, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge took a Christmas card picture and released it to the public recently, where they are presenting Prince Louis, who already looks so grown up despite being less than a year old. However, his big sister, Charlotte, would not be outshined by her little brother, and she looked just as adorable. Let’s take a look at the details.
THE CHRISTMAS CARD
Prince William and Kate Middleton released their official Christmas card on Friday and Prince Louis, the baby of the house seems to have stolen the show from Princess Charlotte; the queens look alike. The little Prince looks so much like his elder sister in the newly released family picture.
Kensington Palace’s Twitter account posted the photo online with the caption: “The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are pleased to share a new photograph of their family. The photograph, taken by Matt Porteous, shows The Duke and Duchess with their three children at Anmer Hall, and features on Their Royal Highnesses’ Christmas card this year.”
This will be the first time the family would be putting a complete picture out there, and we have the beautiful eight-month-old Prince Louis picture debut. The baby was wearing the hand me down shorts and shoes of his five-year-old brother George, but he still managed to steal the show. His obvious resemblance to Charlotte when she was about his age is uncanny; it's like looking at the same person.
Their family picture in 2015 shows the resemblance; the duo shares their mother's brown eyes. They both gave the camera good smirks and obviously enjoyed the whole process. The two siblings share a lot more than looks, their birthdays are just a few weeks apart, three-year-old Princess Charlotte celebrating hers on May 2, and her younger brother was born on April 23.
Their bond has been very apparent. Charlotte can be seen in pictures taken at Louis christening, showering love on her lookalike brother. The family Christmas Picture taken by photographer, Matt Porteous, shows the family of five, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and their three beautiful children.
The picture was taken at Anmer Hall and features on their Royal Highnesses’ Christmas Card for this year. Charlotte, who has been the center of attention, stealing it from her elder brother George due to her uncanny resemblance to her dad and the queen's unhidden favoritism towards her, had to take a back seat as her younger brother flashed his cute smirk.
Everyone can't stop talking about his cuteness and resemblance to Charlotte. It's all hilarious because some would swear that Charlotte looks just like her mom. It's obvious the young Prince Louis is growing into a handsome man and may just be the new showstopper in the royal family. Recently, Clarence House released a picture of grandfather, Prince Charles, holding little Louis with the caption:

CHRISTMAS SEASON FOR THE CHILDREN
Aside from taking a beautiful family photograph, one of the traditions the Royals have to follow is the annual service St. Mary Magdalene. Queen Elizabeth II has already arrived at Norfolk, where she stays every single holiday season at Sandringham castle. The family walks to the church on Christmas Day, and that has become a tradition as well.
Last year, after Meghan announced her engagement to Prince Harry, she joined the family for the celebrations, despite the break in tradition, as she had not become a member of the royals just yet. However, this year, she will be joining them officially while expecting the new baby. Hundreds of people gather on the 25th to see the family walk by and even wish them a “Merry Christmas”.
Other members of the family have already joined the Queen at Sandringham as well like Prince Charles and his wife Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, as well as the Duke of Edinburgh. However, it has been reported that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge might stay at Anmer Hall for the holiday season. Rumors have been going around on whether or not the kids would attend church, including Prince Louis.
According to the royal commentator for Royal Central, James Brookes, the soon to be eight-month-old baby might not be attending the mass. “We have to remember there will be nannies and other household staff on hand to help entertain and look after the children, should the parents want or need a few minutes break, and in terms of the Christmas Day service, I’d say it’s unlikely we’ll see Louis.”
“The Cambridges waited until Prince George and Charlotte had grown up a little before taking them for the first time in 2016, so again, it’s likely the nannies will look after Louis while the rest of the family are at the church in the morning.”
Prince George is already five years old, which is old enough to start attending services at the church. Brookes explained: “The Cambridges might feel that now George and Charlotte have grown up enough, they are old enough to accompany them." The whole family has only been spotted in Christmas Day service in 2016 when they spent the holidays in Berkshire with the Middletons.
Back then, Prince George was just three years old, while Princess Charlotte was 18 months old. They were photographed with Kate’ mom, Carole, her father Michael and her siblings, Pippa and Michael. James Matthew, Pippa’s then-fiancé, also went with them to church. It was the first time that William and Kate’s children had attended church together.
Despite their ages, both children were reportedly extremely well-behaved, and Princess Charlotte was wearing a navy and burgundy ensemble in the arms of her mother. Prince George donned a gray coat, dark red shorts, and dark blue knee-length socks, holding his father’s hand. We will have to wait and see if they start accompanying the rest of the royal family this year.
What did you think of Prince Louis and Princess Charlotte’s striking resemblance? The young princess had always been compared to her grandmother, and it seems that the new baby has also taken after Queen Elizabeth II.
