What True Red Dead Redemption 2 Fans Need To Do First And Foremost
Are you a fan of gaming? For those who have either played this game on Xbox or PS, here is the latest version with some need-to-know strategies and tips in order to make your gameplay more exciting and engaging. While 'Red Dead Redemption 1' was absolutely brilliant in its storyline and graphics, we no doubt loved the voice-over of the main cowboy, John, who was none other than the late Bill Paxton and was totally awesome. This time the main character is voiced by Rob Wiethoff.
'Red Dead Redemption' certainly pays homage to Django films and is a dream game when it comes to strategy, action, entertainment, and real drama. This article will contain those must-have tips for players starting out their adventure in 'Red Dead Redemption 2'. It will mostly focus on the very first pursuits that you should do once you reach Chapter 02: Horseshoe Overlook. We sure are excited to share this with you, so check it out!
Don't be in too much of a hurry to go exploring
You'll find the first few hours in the game are more about introducing you to the characters and mechanics. Before taking control of old Arthur, there are a few things you need to know: Firstly, don’t even try to leave your first camp unless you want to die and restart. The weather outside of your shelter in Colter is way too harsh to survive in, so stick it out.
The dead don't need their gold
Money is one of the resources you’ll seriously need on your journey, and the best way to get it is to rob every single enemy you come across in your opening missions. Once you've reached the full open world, your options will widen considerably, but for now, your best choice is to loot.
Make sure to bring a jacket along
Once you begin with chapter two, you have the freedom to roam almost anywhere in the open world. Your adventures may, however, take you back up into the mountains, so you’ll want to make sure to dress warm and have the appropriate clothing should temperatures drop or increase.
Best thing to do is to throw a spare set of clothes, or even two or three in your saddle bag by going to your camp and interacting with the footlocker in your tent. Pick an outfit or clothes that will keep you well-heated and select Store Outfit on Horse. When you’re out in the world, you'll have the choice to change your outfit from your horse's menu.
You'll need another trusty steed
In this game, you actually form close bonds with your horse, like in real life. So, once you’ve bonded a bit with your horse, contemplate on leaving it in a stable and purchasing or somehow, acquire another faithful steed. You'd rather have two horses in case of an accident or similar.
Be equipped with enough weaponry
Once you’ve investigated the grounds around Valentine a bit, you’ll want to start supplementing gear to your arsenal. Typically, you’ll notice that most weapons are locked when it comes to purchasing them in the gunsmith’s catalog, but that’s because you’ve got to find these weapons out in the world before you can actually buy them.
The best way to get some powerful new hardware early on is by doing what you do best in the game, and that's robbing homesteads or backroom businesses run by other gangs. You can find these places by exploring the town and keeping an eye out for any unusual activities.
Keep up the good health with the local doctor
You can locate the first backroom business at the Doctor’s office in Valentine. Peak through the back window or snoop around the back door to unlock the activity. Just keep your eyes open and don't get caught.
You'll have to go in through the front door and intimidate the doctor, but once he gets the O'Driscolls in the back to open up, hurry in and take them out. Then grab the cash and the Schofield Revolver off the table before the law shows up to wreck your plans.
Little B&E on the Prairie
Homesteads are similar activities that you can get tipped off to or find on your own, where a local gang or group of loonies are held up in a local house. You can obtain one across the river to the north of Valentine where you'll receive a chunk of cash. Make sure to grab a pump-action shotgun from the loft in their cabin as well, as this is one of the best weapons in the game.
Go on the hunt for a legendary buck
If you’re in the mood for a bit of a ride after unlocking the Fence with Hosea, head onward to the northwest from the Valentine area to the town of Strawberry. When you reach the western foot of Mount Shan, you’ll find the territory of a Legendary buck. Hunt it down and bring its antler back to the fence and then craft the Buck Antler trinket. This will enhance the quality of all of the pelts you skin while hunting, making it simpler to craft upgrades and new items. Just take a look at these amazing graphics.
Make sure to collect your free gold
Now, speaking of our off-the-books merchant friend, when you first get to traverse the open world, be sure to take a ride to the burned-out village of Limpany, which is just to the southwest of Horseshoe Overlook.
Head on into the demolished sheriffs office and pull out the lockbox beneath the desk. There you'll find a gold bar worth 500 dollars. You won’t be able to sell it yet, but wait until you unlock the Fence. Hey, it's free money, so make sure to hold onto that.
Be sure to upgrade your campsite
Once you save up at least $545, you can unlock the Ledger at Horseshoe Overlook. There are two significant upgrades you can purchase for your camp. The first is the Dutch's tent, which then opens the second, and is actually a more substantial upgrade.
When upgrading Arthur's tent and wagon, you'll also unlock a map that allows you to travel speedily to any settlement you've previously discovered. This is great when you're on a mission and just don't have time to waste or spare. You can also avoid bumping into any unwanted characters along the way. The scenic routes in this game are done really well and they sure have improved this time around.
Strangers can prove useful
If fast travel isn’t your preferred speed and you’d rather take your time and explore for yourself, keep an eye out for other those less fortunate travelers along the way. Many, like the poor sap who gets himself bitten by a snake or an unfortunate hunter who got his leg caught in a trap, might be super grateful for your help.
They may even repay you by telling you the location of one of those homesteads or back rooms from earlier, or they could also treat you to an item of your choice from a local shop the next time they see you in town. So, use all your means and be on the lookout for opportunities.
Here is some visual aid for you in case you really need some more handy tips. Check this out. There is always room for improvement when it comes to games, and this is indeed spectacular entertainment with plenty of ground to cover and platforms to work with. So, get cracking on that mission and go on that adventure.
