13+ Reasons Why "Grey's Anatomy" Has No Choice But Bring Cristina Yang Back

Grey's Anatomy is an American medical drama television series that premiered on March 27, 2005, on the American Broadcasting Company. It is a fictional series which focuses on the lives of surgical interns, residents, and attending physicians, and follows their lives as they develop into seasoned doctors while trying to maintain personal lives and relationships.

The title is based on the classic human anatomy textbook, which was first published in 1858 in London and written by Henry Gray. Shonda Rhimes, the award-winning American television producer, developed the pilot. She also serves as a writer for the series amidst her other duties as an executive producer, along with Betsy Beers, Mark Gordon, Krista Vernoff, Rob Corn, Mark Wilding, and Allan Heinberg.

The series was designed to be racially diverse and used cast that cut across various countries, ethnicity and racial divides. The show revolves around the title character, Dr. Meredith Grey, played by Ellen Pompeo, first featured as an intern. The original cast consisted of nine star-billed actors: Pompeo, Sandra Oh, Katherine Heigl, Justin Chambers, T. R. Knight, Chandra Wilson, James Pickens Jr., Isaiah Washington, and Patrick Dempsey.

The show has seen many ups and downs, but that is to be expected considering how long it has been on TV. The cast has undergone major changes throughout the series, with many members leaving and being replaced by others. This has caused disappointment to the show lovers, outrage in some cases, and acceptance in others.

Grey's Anatomy is the longest-running scripted primetime show on ABC, having been on the air since 2005. Since that time, it's had 15 seasons, over 300 episodes, and multiple major doctor deaths. It's been a wild, sometimes devastating ride for fans — but they're still tuning in 14 years later. Talk about longevity!

We think the show has been able to stand the test of time because it puts a lot of thought into its characters, its scenes and even the actors it uses. The show has let go of their characters so many times that only four of the characters who began the show still remain. From using real hospitals in their scenes to using real surgical nurses, Grey's Anatomy has remained relevant to over 7.5 million viewers who tuned in for the final episode of season 14.

Grey's Anatomy has been well received by critics and has been included in various critics' year-end top ten lists. Since the show started, it has been described by media outlets and blogs as a television "phenomenon" or a "juggernaut", owing to its longevity and dominant ratings.

It is said to have had a significant effect on popular culturе; this has made it popular for nominations. It has been the recipient of numerous awards, including the Golden Globe Award for Best Television Series. It also has a total of thirty-eight Primetime Emmy Award nominations, including two for Outstanding Drama Series.

The cast members are also not left out. Cast members like Sandra Oh, Kyle Chandler, Katherine Heigl, Ellen Pompeo, and many others have also received several accolades for their respective performance. They've been nominated on several occasions for various awards, winning some of them. The show has seen notable characters and many character interpretations which have given it its reputation today. One of such characters is Ellen Pompeo and Sandra Oh, who were featured in a prominent female friendship.

Although Meredith and Cristina are not related, they might as well be. Dubbed the “Twisted Sisters,” they spend 10 seasons side by side and grow tremendously not just as individuals, but as a pair. Meredith and Cristina’s friendship withstood motherhood, men, and the ups and downs in their individual careers.

Meredith Grey and Cristina Yang are best friends as portrayed in the show. They prioritize their friendship and each other over all other relationships, including career and family. Meredith shared a lot of firsts with Christina, which can be seen in the revelation of pregnancies, post-it weddings, and engagements. In one of the episodes, Cristina needed Meredith to literally come back to life after drowning so she could tell her about her engagement. They even went as far as ditching their significant others to motivate and support each other.

Their relationship is the most important relationship in the show because both women are not afraid to own who they are and define themselves as surgeons first. The romantic entanglements, although distracting, are secondary to their respective identities. The prominence and importance of Meredith and Cristina’s relationship indicate that their professional ambitions are valid and they are entitled to the decision of making worthy life choices that deserve validation and realization.

Some show fans think that removing Sandra Oh's character from the show was the beginning of the end for the long-running series. But, Shonda Rhimes says that as long as Ellen Pompeo was interested in continuing the show, the show will go on. As the highest paid TV drama actress, we don't think Ellen Pompeo will be willing to give up the gig anytime soon.
