It looks like all is not so fine with the fine boy, Canadian singer and songwriter, Justin Bieber. After being discovered in 2008 through a YouTube video by Scooter Braun, he was signed to RBMG that same year. In 2009, he released his first album, and EP called 'My world', which topped the charts and even became platinum. It also broke the record for being the first debut album to have 7 songs on the Billboard 100 record chart.
The most famous on the list, 'Baby,' sold 12 million units. That was more than a decade ago and he has gone on to release loads of other songs which also topped the charts in various categories, he has taken extensive tours to promote the songs and featured in other artiste's songs too.
He featured in the Spanish single 'Despacito' by Daddy Yankee and Luis Fonsi and the song made it to Hot 100's top 10 songs. In June 2011, Forbes named him among the Richest Celebrities under 30, having earned $52 million in 12 months.
In March 25th, 2019, he announced he will be taking a break from music in order to focus on his mental health. He said he had to address a lot of deep-seated issues which came after he broke down during his 'Purpose Tour' which started in 2016 and later called off due to depression.
There could be a lot of reasons for the decline in his mental health. His early rise to stardom and having to deal with fame that early, having cameras in his face at all times, being stalked by fans and other anomalies that comes with being famous. He still hasn't come to terms with that idea, as it seems.
He has been a superstar since he was 13 and got thrown into the public eye at a very early age in life, a fact which in itself can affect his psyche. This may not be the real reason but it has nothing to do with his marriage to longtime friend, Hailey Baldwin.
They had dated between December 2015 and January 2016, before reconnecting in June 2018, and their marriage happened a couple of months later with Hailey denying it in a tweet at first but later deleted it. He seems very happy with Hailey.
A while ago, he was caught on camera looking emotional, distraught and was seen crying in Hailey's car outside their pastor's house. He revealed a couple of days ago that he is going through hard times and asked his Instagram followers to pray for him. In his words, he said he was
"feeling super disconnected and weird".
He also admits to being the emotionally unstable partner in his relationship with Hailey and has a hard time finding peace. This happening may or may not be unconnected with the hospitalization of Selena Gomez, but we can only guess. The singer was a huge and important part of Justin's life in the early stages of his career.
Selena was his first great love, and while he toured the world, he always had her to lean on and learn from. So it could be that he is actually finding it hard to deal and probably feels he should be there for her now that she is going through a lot. He really wishes she will be happy and healthy.
Selena has been checked into a mental facility due to complications from a kidney transplant which caused her emotional instability. She is getting a Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) to help her come back in shape. The duo started dating in 2012 and was in an on and off relationship till finally breaking up in March 2018.
His wife, Hailey is supportive of him and his wellbeing and remarks that mental health should be number one as it affects a lot of things. A year before he met his wife, he took a decision to be celibate, a decision largely due to his Christian background. He was raised by a Christian mother, and in 2014, he had the born again experience and was baptized. This commitment was shown in his song 'I pledge' which was a tribute to God's forgiveness.
He might have lived an amorous lifestyle a couple of years back but he seems bent on living the new life, which strengthened his decision to be celibate before marriage. He saw it as a way to deepen his relationship with God and avoid the "hurt people hurt people" cliché.
When asked about it, he said;
"He [the Lord] doesn't ask us not to have sex for him because he wants rules and stuff, He's like, I'm trying to protect you from hurt and pain. I think sex can cause a lot of pain. Sometimes people have sex because they don't feel good enough and because they lack self-worth. Women do that, and guys do that."
This great decision seemed to have helped his decision to marry Hailey and may become an instrument of recovery for his mental health. With the many reports indicating that he is undergoing therapy, we sure hope to have him back in good shape soon.
In an Instagram post on Monday, March 11th, he said
"So I read a lot of messages saying you want an album, I've toured my whole teenage life and early 20's I realized and as you guys probably saw, I was unhappy last tour, and I don't deserve that and you don't deserve that too. You pay money to come and have a lively, energetic fun light concert and I was unable to give you that near the end of the tour.
I have been looking, seeking, trial and error as most of us do, I am now very focused on repairing some of the deep-rooted issues I have as most of us have so that I don't fall apart, so that I can sustain my marriage and be the father I want to be.
Music is very important to me but nothing comes before my family and health. I will come with a kick-ass album ASAP, my swag is undeniable and my drive is indescribable, His love is supernatural and His grace is that reliable... The top is where I reside, period. Whether I make music or not, the king said so, but I will come with a vengeance believe that.
This message sends rays of hope into our heart that Justin will surely bounce back. We would love to see him back in the studio recording new music, and also back on tour entertaining his fans as his larger than life talent requires and we also hope he will keep being happy in his marriage and in life generally.
What do you think about the state of affairs in the Belieber's camp right now? Do you see Justin going back to record new music anytime soon, or do you see him settling further into married life and starting a family with his wife, Hailey? We'll love to read your takes on this so share with us in the comments. See you soon.
