Cersei Is Screwed: What To Expect After The Battle Of Winterfell
‘Game of Thrones’ built up to this moment for the past ten years, and in a surprising twist, Arya killed the Night King at a point where it seemed like the battle was lost. All that is left now is the final war against Cersei Lannister, who has the Golden Company of Essos, while Dany’s battalion has been significantly reduced. However, Cersei won’t get off easily. Let’s find out why.
THE BATTLE OF WINTERFELL
In Season Eight, Episode Three titled the ‘The Long Night’, Arya fought against the wights left and right before getting trapped in the Winterfell castle. The Dothraki were slaughtered quickly, the Unsullied and the rest had to fall back. Meanwhile, the dead bodies at the crypt were revived by the Night King. Everything was lost, until Beric Dondarrion and the Hound saved Arya from the army.
The red priestess, Melissandre, knew that Beric was brought back to life by the Lord of Light for one purpose, saving Arya, and once it was done, he died in one of the most important scenes of the episode. Then, the Red Woman reminded Arya of a prophecy from Season Three, and she finally understood it.

"Veo oscuridad en ti, y dentro de esa oscuridad unos ojos me regresan la mirada. Ojos marrones, ojos azules, ojos verdes. Ojos que tú apagarás para siempre. "I see a darkness in you. And in that darkness eyes staring back at me - brown eyes, blue eyes, green eyes. Eyes you'll shut forever. We will meet again."
Once Arya heard “blue eyes” again, she got it. She had to be the one to end the Night King and his army of blue-eyed dead forever. It was an amazing part of Arya’s story arc as she became an assassin of the Faceless men to avenge her family. Everything that happened before had led her there, especially all the pain. She might be considered Azor Ahai, but maybe not.

Me encantaron. Me dejaron sin palabras. 😔 . Un capítulo lleno de cosas. ¿Pudieron haber muerto personajes MÁS principales? Si. 😊
Whether it was written in other prophecies does not matter anymore. But what is concerning now is her role in the rest of the show, and the coming battle against Cersei Lannister, one of the last remaining people on her list, won’t be easy. Daenerys’ army is not the same as it was when she arrived in Westeros. Will Arya be the one to kill Cersei? Or will the Volanqar prediction come true?
Another interesting point is that Arya was touched by the Night King before his death, and it might have done something to her. She and Bran are the only ones that got that close to the leader of the dead and survived. Additionally, not that many main characters died in this episode, a fact that seriously confused major fans. But, it could mean that what is coming is even worse.

This is Bran. He gives the dagger to Arya. He knows where and how it's going to end, but keeps his mouth shut. Brain doesn't give spoilers. THE OTHER VILLAIN
Since the death of Robert Baratheon in Season One, one of the major plots of the show - and the novels - has been to destroy House Lannister and take the Iron Throne. The War of the Five Kings started after Robert died, and things are finally coming to a head in a standoff between Cersei Lannister and Daenerys Targaryen.
But, they needed to defeat the army of the dead first because Episode Three proved that it would not be easy and many would be lost in that battle. Now, thanks to Arya, humanity has been saved, surprising everyone who thought Jon or Dany would kill the Night King. On the other hand, Cersei seems to have a huge advantage at this point.
The Golden Company is fresh from Essos, while Dany’s army and Jon’s troops from the North took that massive hit, although no one knows the number of casualties yet. Additionally, Cersei also has the Iron Fleet at her side, unless Yara manages to change the Ironborns’ allegiance. But, either way, she is the next villain to beat, and she should be afraid.

THE IRON THRONE
Many people thought Daenerys would become a real problem after learning about Jon’s real parents, but Cersei is the enemy. Jon has a lot of more claim to the throne than Daenerys since his father Rhaegar Targaryen was the Mad King’s firstborn son. However, after that horrible battle, it is way more likely that they both will unite to stop Cersei from her own madness.
They have to get things straight between them because they are aunt and nephew but still in love. That might not become a real issue since the Targaryens married brothers and sisters for ages to “keep the bloodlines pure”. But, that is still a huge discussion that Dany and Jon need to get out there before moving on with the war.
Jon has never craved titles or power, and he might just step aside because he truly believes in Dany. Fans still have to wait and see if they tell anyone else the truth about his birthright. Another option is what Tyrion, Varys, and Ser Davos discussed in Episode One: they could get married. If they earn the Iron Throne together, then dragon riders would once again rule the Seven Kingdoms.
There are many theories that were shattered by last Sunday’s episode, but the threat of the dead is over, and that was supposed to be the most important battle in the final season. What happens next is anyone's guess. One theory suggests that the Valonqar prophecy will come true, and Cersei will be killed by her “little brother”, which could mean Tyrion or Jaime. However, after Episode Three, Arya might be the one to do it and fulfill her list.
In any case, ‘Game of Thrones’ Season Eight is halfway through, and fans are both eager and scared of an ending that is coming too fast and too slow at the same time. The Battle of Winterfell changed television history, and although it received mixed reactions, it was epic. The conclusion should be just as amazing.
Clearly, the world of fantasy would not be alright without, at least, one Stark. Let us know what you thought of Episode Three. If you liked this article, share it with your friends who suffered through ‘Avengers: Endgame’ and ‘The Long Night’ this weekend. Valar Morghulis!
