The Bitter-Sweet Ending Of ‘Avengers: Endgame’
After the release of ‘Avengers: Infinity Wars,’ viewers and fans have been bothered about how the Avengers will finally defeat the Mad Tatian, Thanos, and bring back those who disappeared as a result of his snap. Luckily, ‘Avengers: Endgame’ is finally out, and we have all the answers for all the avid MCU fans. Sadly, it wasn’t all happy ever after as we had to say goodbye to some of our favorite superheroes. Beware, major spoilers ahead!
HULK MADE THE SNAP HAPPEN AGAIN
Just after Hulk successfully snaps all of the lost souls back into existence using the retrieved Infinity Stones and the Iron Man’s manufactured gauntlet, Thanos arrives. As everyone else was buried beneath rubble and incapacitated, Captain America, Iron Man and Thor launch into battle against Thanos. They tried fighting him off, but Thanos seems far too strong for them, even without the Infinity Stones. Gratefully, just when it looked like the three heroes are on the verge of losing again, help arrives.
IRON MAN SAVED THE DAY
Tony Stark tries to attack Thanos, but he was easily thrown away. Even though the gauntlet is still with Thanos, he has no idea that the new Infinity Gauntlet has a fluidity features just like Iron Man's new suit. So, Stark's attack wasn't entirely futile; he is able to quickly obtain all of the Infinity Stones without Thanos' awareness. The Mad Titan only realizes this when he attempts to snap his fingers again, preventing what would have been an unconvincingly unfortunate occurrence if the snap had worked. It was this moment Stark shows his fist, graced with the glowing Infinity Stones. He knew the Mad Titan would never easily accept defeat as long as he is breathing, so Stark uses the stones to snap Thanos and almost everyone loyal to him from existence.
Unfortunately, the final act of heroism took Tony Stark’s life. Only one of those stones is capable of completely ruining anything that isn't immortal, and Tony was holding all of them. He just had to go. Our favorite superhero spends his last moments with Peter Parker and Pepper Potts.
HOW THE AVENGERS GOT THE INFINITY STONES
In the second act, the Avengers got the Infinity Stones by traveling back through time to important moments and locations in the MCU. Iron Man, Captain America, and Ant-Man took the Mind Stone from New York City (in 2012) and the Power Stone from 1970 while Hulk acquires the Time Stone from the Ancient One in 2012. Hawkeye also gets the Soul Stone through Black Widow's sacrifice. Thor and Rocket Raccoon take the Aether (and Mjolnir) from Jane Foster on Asgard in 2013, and eventually, Nebula and War Machine receive the Space Stone from Morag in 2014.
Fortunately, the Hulk comprehends from the Ancient One that the Avengers could use the Infinity Stones without altering reality itself only if each one is returned afterward to its respective time.
The superheroes try to return the Stones mid-battle in the third act, but Thanos obstructs those plans. With the Mad Titan out of the way, the Stones can be finally taken back to their actual times.
Following the funeral of Tony Stark, Bruce Banner and Rocket reconstruct the time machine that Thanos and Nebula dismantled. Steve Rogers agrees to take the Infinity Stones, and Mjolnir, back through time to where, and when, they came from. Despite the fact that he also takes the chance to live the life he missed out on, with Peggy Carter, Steve still manages to succeed in restoring the Stones and the enchanted hammer. This means that this reality no longer has any Infinity Stones.
WHAT IS THE FATE OF THE AVENGERS AFTER THE BATTLE?
Unfortunately, Tony Stark lost his life in the final battle against Thanos, Black Widow died on Vomir, and Vision is still unfixed, but what about other members of the Avengers? After the battle, and burial of our lost heroes, the future of many superheroes characters are left as a mystery. Hulk will possibly continue to render help wherever he can, particularly now that he has the amazing intelligence of Banner and the vigor of his green counterpart.
Thor willingly stops being the king of Asgard — Asgardians relocated to Norway— and grants the title to Valkyrie. We know how Thor had never really had a huge interest in being the King, so this makes perfect sense that he'd choose to continue to fight with other heroes to protect the earth rather than claiming his birthright. With nothing left for him to do as the fate of the Avengers is uncertain, Thor decides to seek out adventure with the Guardians of the Galaxy. He has always been one to love some fun.
Captain America lived a long, happy life with Peggy Carter eventually. The last scene of ‘Avengers: Endgame’ shows Peggy and him in a suburban house, dancing slowly to a cool tune. This scene is a reference to ‘Captain America: The First Avenger,’ which showed the two trying to hold on to hope before Steve crashed into the ice, and promised each other a dance.
This isn't the end of Captain American as an old Steve Rogers was shown sitting on a bench, beside him is a time machine. He looks ready to pass the indestructible shield to someone else— Sam Wilson.
After decades of riding with our favorite heroes of the Marvel Comic Universe, it eventually came to an end. Although ‘Avengers: Endgame’ had a bitter-sweet ending for us as we said goodbye to some special heroes, we loved every bit of it.
