Avengers Endgame: Real-life Partners Revealed

Marvel Cinematic Universe has won everyone's hearts over with the Avengers saga. And with the next movie premiere just days away, we're going to take a look at our favorite Avengers 4 once again. Although fans might ship the onscreen characters, the private lives of the Endgame cast are even more intriguing. So, who's dating who? Let's start.

The Captain American actor is super private about his real-life partner. Paparazzi have been waiting for years to capture the star with a new love interest, but Evans isn’t interested in revealing any details. When it comes to private events, Chris has shown up with basically every member of his life. We do know a bit about his past, though. His most recent love interest was Jenny Slate for the last couple of years. They dated for a year before moving in together, but eventually ended up breaking up. However, when filming started for ‘Avengers: Infinity War,’ the two reunited, only to break up again in 2018. Jenny opened up about their relationships and hilariously revealed that she actually thought he was a total disaster, because of his constant partying and loud personality.

“Game nights. This is annoying. This guy’s like a sports guy. He’s the kid that likes P.E.”

Apparently, it was Chris’s generosity, kindness, and enthusiasm that won him over. But it seems like it ended up being a little too much for Jenny - she felt like she just wasn’t his type. And when looking at his previous relationships, we can see why. Evans has been connected to Minka Kelly and Jessica Biel in the past. In 2007, Kelly and Evans started dating only to break up shortly after. The two got back together in 2012, but, just like with Jenny, the two still split in the end. The star’s longest relationship was actually with Jessica Biel. The pair dated for 5 whole years but never disclosed their reason for breaking up. Since Biel started dating her now-husband Justin Timberlake around the same time she broke up with Chris, many believe the events were connected.

Although he makes an amazing dad, Jeremy has had a terrible time when it comes to marriage. The Hawkeye star had gone through a painful divorce with Canadian model Sonni Pacheco. The two married in 2014 and had a baby shortly after. But, shockingly, they split just as fast. After just 10 months, Sonni filed for divorce. She demanded that Renner return her stolen passport, birth certificate, and social security card. On top of the divorce, Jeremy had to go to court and deal with custody issues over his child at the same thing. To make matters even worse, a friend of Renner’s, Kristoffer Winter, came out with a statement that left everyone stunned:

“Sunny told me that she did not believe in marriage and only wanted Jeremy to marry her so that she could become a United States citizen and avoid returning to Canada.”

Even though he hasn’t had luck in the marriage department, we know for a fact that Jeremy makes up for it in the dad department. When talking about his sweet little baby Ava, the actor shared:

“When she drew her first breath and with that palmar reflex grabbed my finger, the thought came to me, if all goes well, this same scenario will happen when I take my last breath.”

Let’s get one thing straight before we start: Johansson has stated multiple times that she doesn’t believe it's natural to be a monogamous person. Despite the fact, however, the Black Widow actress has given marriage a chance - twice. It’s an event that most people have probably forgotten about by now but in 2008, Johansson got married to Ryan Reynolds. Alas, the marriage ended up falling apart 2 years - and most people believe it was because of Ryan’s current wife, Blake Lively.

The two started dating right around the same time Reynolds divorced with Johansson, so it might as well be true. Her second (and probably final) chance was with Romain Dauriac, who she ended up having a baby daughter with. This also ended up in a shocking, unexpected divorce since the pair looked truly happy. Although she might have given up on marriage, the actress is still playing the field and currently dating Collin Jost.

The newest addition to the MCU went through some big life changes in 2019. Although Larson has gained international popularity seemingly overnight with her role as Captain Marvel, she had to deal with a called off the engagement at the same time. What makes the situation even more heartbreaking, is that Brie and her ex-fiance, Alex Greenwald, were together for an entire decade, and engaged for 3 whole years. The two had instant chemistry upon meeting and the support they’ve shown each other was admirable. Unfortunately, with Larson’s busy schedule, the couple decided to take a step back with their engagement and called it off.

Ruffalo has gone through some major ups and downs in his life. Even though many fans were shipping Bruce and Natasha, Ruffalo has been happily married to his wife, Sunrise Coigney, for the past 19 years. Now, the couple has 3 beautiful kids and the family lives on a peaceful county farm.

“I was living in a dump and didn’t even have a driver's license or a credit card. She thought I was a mess, but she believed in me and kept encouraging me.”

Although things weren’t so smooth the entire time. Mark was hit with two tragedies - one involving his brother getting murdered, and the time the actor was diagnosed with a brain tumor. In fact, it escalated to the point where the actor believed his time was ending, and even filmed a video for his son so he knew who his father was. Miraculously, the tumor ended up passing and Mark was able to get back to his normal life and cherish each day.

Notoriously known for his struggles with addition, this is the most prominent reason why the Iron Man actor hasn’t been able to keep a relationship together. None of his previous relationships had worked out. He dated Sarah Jessica Parker for 7 years, but the actress apparently got sick of babysitting him and left.

“I was dishonest with her a lot. I think after a certain point you break trust with someone, and you can’t repair it anymore.”

The reason why his first marriage with Deborah Falconer didn’t work out either was, unfortunately, because of the same thing. With his current wife, though, things were different - she really put her foot down and didn’t let him have it any other way. When she first met the actor, she admits that she didn’t really find him that attractive or sexy. When they started seeing each other, she gave Robert an ultimatum and agreed to be with him only if he got sober once and for all. Even though we know him as our favorite Iron Man onscreen, it seems like the real Iron Woman, in this case, is Downey’s wife!

Chris Hemsworth’s marriage happened very quickly. The Thor actor ended up marrying Elsa Pataky just 3 months after getting together! The couple has now been together for over 9 years and shared 3 kids. However, it wasn’t always paradise for this married couple either. Between hectic schedules, family life and kids, Chris shared the importance of making time for each other:

“Once you have children, every instinct and every moment of your time is consumed by that. You’ve got nothing for each other, so make sure you have date night even if it’s once in a blue moon.”

Alas, relationships and marriage aren't all rainbows and butterflies. Aside from chaotic filming schedules, some of these actors went through even more chaotic times in their personal lives - and we really do feel for them all. We gotta admit though, Thor's real-life marriage is ultimate #relationshipgoals (sorry ladies - our favorite hunk is happily taken). Which onscreen couple do you ship from the Avengers 4? And who do you wish started dating in real life? Comment your thoughts below! And make sure to check out our related articles about the MCU for the latest updated.
