We are over the moon, the long wait has finally ended, and we are glad baby Sussex has arrived. With the news of the birth of the new royal, we are sure royal fans must have been wondering, if the delivery took place in the hospital or at Frogmore Cottage in Windsor, as speculated by many. Well, you are not alone, and we are glad to share with you what we know about the issue. Also, you'd get to know about the Royals Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s baby bump down in the line of succession. You are in for an exciting ride; enjoy!
YAAAY! IT'S A HEALTHY BABY BOY
We got the amazing news we have all been waiting for when the Duke and Duchess of Sussex made the announcement of the birth of their child on their official Instagram page. The message read:
“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex welcomed their firstborn child in the early morning of May 6.”
Beautifully, the royal family Twitter account supplied fans with few more details about the birth. Meghan Markle successfully delivered baby Sussex at 5:26 a.m with the Duke of Sussex by her side. The healthy baby weighed in at 7 lbs 3 oz. It was also disclosed in a later message that Doria Ragland was with her daughter at Frogmore Palace.
WHEN TO EXPECT THE RELEASE OF THE NEW ROYAL’S PHOTOS AND HIS NAMES
Apart from the announcement made on social media, the new father gleefully stepped out to speak to members of the media at Windsor. In what we would consider as the most endearing new father video ever, the Prince effused over his new child and wife. He revealed that “Mother and baby are doing incredibly well." The Duke of Sussex who couldn't stop beaming with smiles described the day as "the most amazing experience I could ever possibly imagine. How any woman does what they do is beyond comprehension."
Concluding his statement, Prince Harry expressed his gratitude to the public for their support. Apparently, as revealed by the Prince, the couple is still thinking of a fitting name for the baby.
The Duke of Sussex explained:
From Prince Harry's explanation, it is likely that the new royal parents will show off the baby and reveal his name in “two days time.”
"Still thinking about names. The baby's a little overdue so we've had some time to think about it."
LOADS OF CONGRATULATORY MESSAGES
The whole world is ecstatic about the birth of the Royal baby. As expected, the royal family was the first to publicly share their delight over the birth of baby Sussex -the newest member of the family. The Royal Family wrote on Twitter:
“The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Lady Jane Fellowes, Lady Sarah McCorquodale, and Earl Spencer have been informed and are delighted with the news.”
Like we noted earlier, everyone is glad about the arrival of the new royal, and celebrities are not excluded.
Priyanka Chopra -a friend to the new mother -wrote:
“Congrats M & H”
above the baby's birth announcement. The Talk show host, Ellen DeGeneres hilariously wrote:
“The #royalbaby is here! Congratulations, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry. The baby is 7th in line for the throne, which is crazy, because right now I’m 7th in line for the key-making kiosk at my grocery store. @RoyalFamily.”
Former first lady, Michelle Obama also sent her best wishes to the new parents, writing: “Congratulations, Meghan and Harry! Barack and I are so thrilled for both of you and can’t wait to meet him. #RoyalBaby.”
THE REASON WE THINK MEGHAN HAD A HOME BIRTH
Before the birth of the baby, the couple indicated their wishes to keep the birth of their child exclusive, and as such, opted to have a home birth. However, many were concerned that the fact that Markle was overdue would constraint the duchess to have a traditional hospital delivery.Although no official details have been revealed, it seems the Duchess may have been able to have a home birth after all. The official royal family Twitter account stated that Doria Ragland and her daughter were presently at Frogmore Cottage – a major cue to the location. Given that the Meghan only just gave birth a few hours earlier, it would be implausible for the duchess to have already been released from the hospital the same day.
BABY SUSSEX'S PLACE IN THE LINE OF SUCCESSION TO THE BRITISH THRONE
The birth of the new royal baby does not change the position of all Royals in line of succession to the British throne. Those before him have remained the same and they include Prince Charles, who is heir apparent and will sit on the throne after his mother, Queen Elizabeth II. After Charles is his oldest son and Prince Harry’s brother, Prince William. The first child of Prince William and Kate Middleton, Prince George, is third. Thanks to the Succession to the Crown Act, which revised the system that males no longer take precedence over their older sisters, Princess Charlotte remains the fourth. This makes little baby Louis the fifth.Following, the birth of each of the Duke of Cambridge's children, Prince Harry’s place in the line was bumped down. The Duke of Sussex is now the sixth in line and his son becomes seventh. If Markle and the prince decide to have more children, they will fall in line behind their older brother.
Nevertheless, baby Sussex does shift the place of some royals in the line of succession. The new royal did bump his great uncle Prince Andrew down the line; the Duke of York became the eighth in line to the throne.
As a result of this, everyone behind Prince Andrew is bumped down as well. Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie -the Duke's daughters are now in the ninth and tenth positions respectively.
NO RECORDS OF ANIMOSITY FROM ROYALS WHO HAVE BEEN BUMPED DOWN IN LINE OF SUCCESSION
Of course, we didn’t expect that there will be hard feelings within the members of the royal family about being bumped down in line to the throne. Prince Andrew was one of the first royal family members to congratulate the Duke and Duchess of Sussex on the arrival of their first childThe Duke of York wrote on social media:
“Congratulations to The Duke and Duchess of Sussex on the safe delivery of your baby boy!”
Other Royals have also sent their good wishes to the new parents.
