‘The Bachelorette’: The Secret Meaning Behind Garrett Powell Being the First out the Limo
'The Bachelorette' is an American reality TV show that first broadcasted on ABC on January 8, 2003. The dating game show is a spin-off of 'The Bachelor' that also airs on the same network. Season one featured Trista Rehn, the runner-up date from the inaugural season of 'The Bachelor', offering the chance for Rehn to pick a husband amongst 25 bachelors.
Season 2 again took a runner-up from the preceding season of 'The Bachelor'. However, after broadcasting on February 28, 2005, the series wasn't aired for the next three years, only to return to ABC during the spring of 2008.
The rules of The Bachelorette are adapted from 'The Bachelor', its parent show. The show centers around a single bachelorette, who is customarily a former contestant from the previous season of 'The Bachelor', and a pool of romantic interests (usually 25; 30 in season 5), which could include a likely husband for the bachelorette.
The show begins with the bachelorette standing in front of the mansion and greeting each male contenders individually as they walk out of the limo. After each rose ceremony, at least one contestant doesn't receive a rose and returns home; hence, the pool of participants gets smaller, which ultimately leaves the bachelorette to choose between two contestants in the final rose ceremony.
For the final selection, one of two suitors proposes to the bachelorette. All 13 seasons of The Bachelorette have finished with a proposal which the bachelorette either accepted or rejected.
WHO'S SEASON 15'S BACHELORETTE?
The 15th season of The Bachelorette features Hannah Brown as the eponymous lead. Brown is a 24-year-old interior designer from Tuscaloosa, Alabama. She was crowned Miss Alabama USA 2018 and represented Alabama at Miss USA 2018.
Hannah was a contestant on the 23rd season of The Bachelor starring Colton Underwood. She came 7th overall. She is also the first Bachelorette cast member to not have placed in the top 4 of a season of ‘The Bachelor’.
Now Hannah B has started her own journey to find love and she's quite popular with the followers of the show. During her interview with Bachelorette host Chris Harrison, she exuded warmth, maturity, and a healthy dose of self-deprecation, which resulted in the greatest audience and contestant support by a long shot.
“I thought my life was going to be this certain way. I grew up in Alabama. I was gonna marry the guy who I dated for so long right out of college, start spitting out babies,” she told Harrison.
“Ultimately, I just thought that was gonna be okay for me. But it is not okay for me. I want so much more, and I deserve so much more. This experience and the relationship that I have with Colton just allowed me to see myself in a different way; and be vulnerable with who I am and who I want to be and what type of love I want to have and receive.”
“The desire of my heart is to be loved so fiercely by somebody. I will not allow myself to not feel chosen every single day.”
HANNAH MEETS HER ADMIRERS
Every season of The Bachelorette opens with suitors meeting the star as they come out of a limo. It might look random in the order, but there is a hidden meaning behind it. Interestingly, Hannah B has just met her suitors in episode one. What does it signify that Garrett Powell was the first to come out the limousine? Here is the answer and more.
GARRETT POWELL WAS THE FOREMOST TO COME OUT THE LIMO
Powell was the first to meet Brown in the opening episode. Garrett Powell is from Birmingham, Alabama so they have the same home state. The assistant golf professional said that he hopes to be her “hole in one.”
He also shared a photo of his first time meeting Hannah Brown on Instagram with the inscription,
“Hey girl.. come here often?? Tune in TONIGHT at 8/7c on ABC to see me try to pick up a girl in a cheap suit #thebachelorette #pauldiaz.”
Garrett is a graduate from Mississippi State University and majored in professional golf management, per his Facebook. Golf is not his only passion since he played football for the Mississippi State Bulldogs.
SEAN LOWE ASSERTS THAT THE FIRST TO GET OUT THE LIMO IS A STRONG CONTENDER
The order of guys who meet the star is set by producers. Whoever is placed first to meet the bachelorette means the organizers think the suitor’s chances are high.
Sean Lowe talked about how this was exposed to him by a producer. He did not win Emily Maynard’s heart but he became many followers' favorite and a star himself.
“I remember one of the producers said to me [before filming The Bachelorette], ‘You are going to be the first one out of the limo,’” Sean told Glamour.
“I did not think much of it. But then he said, ‘Because you are first, everyone here thinks you are going to do well.’ They want to get the show started off on the right foot.”
GARRETT MAY BE A PRODUCER'S FAVORITE, BUT IT IS STILL ANYONE’S GAME
Things are still fresh for the season. Garrett’s entrance order is an indication that he could be a solid contender, but other men made giant strides on the first night.
Hannah Brown remembered Luke Parker from their time at 'After the Final Rose'. His entrance included him jumping on top of the limousine to go beast mode. When Hannah was upset about one of the men having a girlfriend, he was the one to console her. That earned him a lot of points to where he got the first impression rose.
Brown also kissed Cameron Ayala (Cam). He got to meet the beauty pageant participant in the finale as well. Connor Saeli (Connor S) also made the big step by kissing her.
