BTS Members' Real-Life Couples

In 2019, this South Korean boy band BTS (Bangtan Boys) was named one of TIME's 100 Most Influential People and they are currently the biggest pop act in the world. They have an incredible fanbase called the ARMY who support their idols like no other. However, not many people know much about their personal lives.

We've gathered some details about the band members' private lives and you'll definitely be surprised when you find out what connects Anne Hathaway and Jin, what qualities a girl should possess if she wants to enchant one of the BTS members. Read the article to find out all the tea.

RM – Kim Nam-joon

RM, formerly known as Rap Monster, revealed that he used to have a girlfriend in high school but she broke his heart because she had too many guy friends and that made him always feel insecure. He said that back then he wore glasses and wasn't the "rationally charming type."

But we're sure that any fan would give up anything to be in the same class as him, right? In 2017 he revealed, what the Outro of the BTS album “Love Yourself: Her” meant. In the interview for Billboard RM said:

"I thought it was the right outro for this album because it is really a range of emotions - I'm saying I met this person that I really love, this person is the love of my life right now, I'm saying that I was confused and I was looking for love and this world is complex."

This says something about the fact that RM is in love with his girlfriend and will soon show her off. He says an ideal girlfriend should be "sexy, even to a brain. Someone that is thoughtful and confident". As for now, he's avoiding all the questions about his personal life.

V – Kim Tae Hyung

Did you know handsome V was bullied in high school? He's also revealed that even his ex-friend used him. "We were close, but then I started to feel like he didn’t think of me as his friend, but rather as someone inferior to him," V recalls when the friend invited him to a birthday party and he purposely told everyone except V where the party would be.

The future idol stood at the doors waiting for the party for a few hours before he found out the truth. "I remember crying so hard as I walked home." But of course, the friend envied V. “After some time had passed, he told me that he had been jealous of me because I got along so well with our friends.”

When he became more famous, rumors began spreading that V was dating Joy from girl group Red Velvet. She might be the girl V referred to in his interview revealing a one-sided love from the past. When he called to admit his feelings to the mystery girl, she didn't even pick up the phone.

Another rumor that was circulating is that the singer was in a relationship with one of his fans, Hi. He would often say "Hi Nuna" in posts and even wore a ring that she gave him. Fans were so curious about them, that BTS's management company had to make an official announcement, saying that Hi and V are just friends.

V later revealed that he's had many girlfriends but he was not in a serious relationship with any of them. “I’ve never been in a serious relationship. Actually, I couldn’t refuse a confession. I think that’s the reason why I have never been in a relationship for more than 20 days.”

He revealed that popular British actress Kaya Scodelario is close to his ideal type. But as she's already taken so he's still searching for the one who first appears cold but actually has a warm heart. He wants to date someone who is kind and respectful to her parents and can help him manage his money.

J-Hope – Jung Ho Seok

On an episode of Rookie King idol, J-Hope decided to perform Dynamic Duo‘s “Solo” because it reminded him of his past girlfriend. After that, he revealed that their break-up was really painful for him - “I had a girlfriend that I liked a lot, but she left me for another man” said J-Hope.

He still has plenty of good memories about their relationship; he also has an important criterion regarding his ideal type. He's looking for someone who will support him and only think about him, which is over and above essential things like a love for reading, taking care of others, and being a good cook.

By the way, every BTS member mentions cooking as the quality of an ideal girlfriend. Maybe with such a tight schedule, they have no time for tasty home-made dinners? J-Hope previously stated that he was a fan of I'm Jeong-hee and Park Ji-Young, but we think they're more his role models than love interests as they are significantly older than him.

Suga – Min Joon Gi

Before debuting in BTS, Suga had issues with his self-image. He thought he was too fat, and that's why he constantly went on diets and played a lot of sports. After experiencing trauma on his shoulder, he wasn't allowed to do much anymore, and that led to depression. Hard to believe, huh?

Unfortunately, the singer couldn't get rid of his insecurities… Suga confessed "I’m thinking of going on a diet. To be honest, I may already be underweight, but as I’m in an industry that requires me to come out on television, I have no other choice but to maintain my appearance."

He's also had problems in his private life. His last known relationship was back in high school, he revealed a very cute story about how he fell in love with his fellow classmate. They were friends but he didn't have the guts to confess his feelings, so he sent a love letter to a local radio station.

Of course, his classmate was touched and agreed to date him but this relationship wasn't a happy one and didn't last long. We're hoping that with the help of his fans and band members Suga will be able to get over it. Maybe a girlfriend will help? Or a boyfriend?

Suga is an active supporter of LGBT rights and even hinted at his own bisexuality in one of his interviews. “I focus on the personality and atmosphere. I don’t have an ideal type, and it’s not limited to a girl.” said the idol.

Now he says he doesn't need a relationship, as he is concentrating on his job. But who knows how it really is? Their producers are very much concerned about keeping the relationship statuses of these guys in the shadows.

Jin - Kim Seok Jin

There were plenty of rumors about Jin dating a popular Korean comedienne named Lee Guk Joo, especially after Jin thanked her in the first 3 BTS album notes. Also, another comedian made a joke about Lee Guk Joo dating a popular and handsome idol trainee without saying his name.

This only made things worse. When it was clear that Lee and Jin are on good terms, the fans had no doubts about this couple. After some time the girl made an announcement on the radio that she had no romantic relationship with the BTS member and claimed that they're just good friends.

Lee says “So there’s a person who I have been close to for over four years and I even cheered him on at “Music Core” when he debuted. BTS. Jin. We are very close. He thanked me in the “Thanks To” section in his first three albums and fans put two and two together.”

So, for now, Jin is single and is looking for a girlfriend with a puppy-like face and personality and who, of course, can cook. Do you know who his celebrity crush is? It's the gorgeous Anne Hathaway, but she's already taken, so let's just wish Jin luck!

Jimin - Park Jimin

Jimin is the most popular among all the idols. Back in 2018, he ranked at #1 most preferred idol in a survey conducted by Gallup Korea. When the guys from the band were asked which BTS member they would date if they were girls, most of them named Jimin, because he's very gentle, attentive and even listens to his girlfriend.

Can you imagine that this cutie had a problem with his self-esteem?  He has confessed that he considered himself "fat" and was self-conscious about his looks and his cheeks? He lost 15 lbs by restricting his diet a lot, which often led to him passing out during dance rehearsals.

It wasn't just the band members who persuaded him to eat but also his fans who started a flashmob supporting their idol with the hashtag #JiminYouArePerfect on Twitter. Right now Jimin feels good and doesn't plan on going on such strict diets anymore. Maybe the problem is his lack of luck with girls? Although, he's been linked to other idols.

For quite a long time there were rumors going around about a relationship with Han Seung-Yeon from KARA. In an interview on the show Weekly Idol, the KARA star admitted to an alleged relationship with Jimin "That's right.

When we were promoting "Mamma Mia," our promotion periods overlapped. He has caught my eye ever since". After that, there were more rumors about a romance with Seulgi from Red Velvet when our favorite idol mentioned that he likes the band.

The band members adore him too. V revealed "Only the amount of him losing his temper is excessive, he’s kind and a friend that’s trustworthy. I talk to him the most, and if I have any worries, he’s the friend that I tell it first to." Well, we hope he will find someone who will bring him happiness and confidence.

Jungkook – Jeon Jungkook

This 22-year-old guy also only had a love-life before the BTS debut. He was allegedly dating a fellow classmate named Park Se Won and fans even found pics of them together. The girl also tweeted about her boyfriend that was “too busy to spend time with her”. Sad to hear!

And even though their relationship was never officially confirmed, obviously it didn't work out. Of course, he also revealed how he sees his ideal girlfriend and said that she should have a healthy body and also be very intelligent. Should we mention that she also must be able to cook?

Jungkook considers himself very competitive and he hopes his girlfriend will also have the desire to compete. Maybe he's already found one. Jungkook recently attended Ariana Grande's concert a
