An inside Look at 'Blue Bloods' Star Bridget Moynahan’s Secret Wedding
The small family wedding of Bridget Moynahan, Tom Brady’s ex, became a popular topic after she revealed all the details of the secret ceremony.
Actress Bridget Moynahan got married to her beloved husband Andrew Frankel three years ago, but they kept it a closely guarded secret at the time. The actress has since revealed the details of the hush-hush wedding Moynahan waited until after they said their "I do's" before deciding to share any of the plans with the public.
AN INTIMATE EVENT
Ann David and Nicky Reinhard of David Reinhard Events, event planners of the wedding, exclusively told People that the ceremony itself was small:
“Only family [including Moynahan’s son John, 8, with ex Tom Brady] and a small number of close friends attended before the party.”
Moynahan said that she and ex Tom Brady's son Jack was excited for the family to expand to include Frankel.
The couple tied the knot at Sagaponack in New York, and the blushing bride later took to her Instagram account with a sneaky peak wedding shot of herself and Frankel walking through the vineyard.
On Jenny McCarthy‘s Dirty Sexy Funny radio show, the "Blue Bloods" star revealed that she met Frankel after being set up by friends. She said of their relationship: “He’s super easy to talk to, so it was like I was going out with somebody I knew for a lifetime."
The pictures she shared looked utterly beautiful and spoke volumes about the intimacy of the event.
Moynahan also shared pictures of her bridesmaids and the most important one: The picture of her walking down to the aisle with her father. The actress captioned it, "I love you, Dad."
THE AFTERMATH OF A TUMULTUOUS BREAKUP
Moynahan and Brady broke up back in 2004, right before the actress had discovered she was pregnant with his child. Brady went on to marry model Gisele Bundchen in 2009.
"I never made a comment about Gisele or Tom publicly. I have a relationship with these people on a daily basis. I'm raising a child, and it's public... My son has two loving parents and an extended family, whether it's cousins or stepmothers or boyfriends. My son is surrounded by love."
So it's safe to say that when it comes to co-parenting John Edward Thoman Moynahan, their 11-year-old son, Bridget and Tom sure do make a winning team. But, things weren't always this easy for the star.
Moynahan opened up about the pain she endured after she split with the New England Patriots quarterback, back in 2006. Not only was she dealing with the pain of a failed relationship - but she was also coping with a surprise pregnancy on her own, too. The star said,
"Being pregnant and having a baby are such personal, intimate moments. I would have cars following me, and men hiding in the bushes outside my house."
A LIVING NIGHTMARE FOR A PREGNANT ACTRESS
And of course, the fact that Tom had moved on so fast with his new love, supermodel Gisele Bündchen (who he ended up marrying in 2009), escalated the public's interest in the breakup even more. Moynahan shared: "As a new mother, you want to just protect your child. That kind of attention felt like a threat.”
She commented on the struggle of constantly being followed while pregnant, and the toll it took on the actress. According to Yahoo! Entertainment, Moynahan disclosed:
"I had a public breakup and then I was pregnant and then I had a baby. And those moments were kind of stolen from me by the paparazzi, the tabloids, whatever."
"STILL WORKING THROUGH" HER FEELINGS
In fact, the scrutiny during that time had such a negative effect on the actress, that she recently admitted she's "still working through" the feelings of insecurity and pain she experienced following her split from the quarterback. But, she's "shedding" those feelings now, although she confessed she still finds herself acting a certain way. Moynahan explained:
"If I was going into a public space still or walking through the streets, sometimes I change my posture or hide a little bit because of that period of time. Because of that attention that was unwanted."
HOW WRITING HAS HELPED HER COPE
Thankfully, the actress has found a solution. Bridget shared that she was finally able to confront those feelings and change her habits thanks to her new project - "Our Shoes, Our Selves", a book that she has personally written. It features stories from various women who link important moments in their lives with a pair of shoes.
The actress shared a personal story of buying motorcycle boots as a "security blanket" after her tumultuous breakup with Tom. In her BUILD interview, she shared: "I feel like this project has kind of shown that to me that I still unconsciously carried that around with me. And so I’m still working through that and kind of shedding that now."
A HAPPY ENDING FOR ALL
She remains civil when speaking about her ex and their relationship, believing that it is best for her son to keep him out of any personal drama between herself and the boy's father.
Now, Brady, 41, and Bundchen, 38, have two children together - Benjamin and Vivian Lake. Moynahan and Frankel have been happily married since 2015, and are friends with the couple as well. The actress was excited to grow her family, and she preferred that there be peace between her and her ex. The actress said of their relationship:
“Tom and I made a decision to raise a child together, and we both found partners that not only supported us in raising that child but also loved our child as if he was their own."
MOYNAHAN'S SUCCESS IN "BLUE BLOODS"
Ever since its debut in 2010, CBS' "Blue Bloods" has brought in millions of fans. Viewers love the show for its variety, the fact that it always keeps you on the edge of your seat, and the mindblowing way in which every crime seems to unfold. The show manages to mix realism with drama in such a way that no other series can. On top of the family-oriented spin, the producers have implemented too, there definitely isn't anything else like it.
"Blue Bloods" evidently stands out from your typical, cookie-cutter crime show - and the rating says it all. The series was confirmed for a 10th season that'll be released between 2019-2020, meaning it will pass the 200-episode mark in the fall. Bridget Moynahan has become a fan favorite, who's role is Erin Reagan, the daughter of Frank and the Bureau Chief at the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office.
Coming in at $25 million, the actress' current net worth is surprisingly worth more than the second richest Wahlberg. Taking into consideration her impressive net worth, Bridget is raking in at least $60,000 per episode.
Bridget might have gone through an emotional rollercoaster for a few years after her split with Tom Brady, but in the end, everything worked out for the best. Now, the actress is in a happy and loving marriage, doing what she loves, and earning millions whilst doing so! Are you a fan of "Blue Bloods"?
