SECOND PREGNANCY CAME WITH A SURPRISE
Adam and Danielle did not want to have only one daughter, so they resorted again to intrauterine insemination to achieve a second pregnancy. What they did not expect is that Danielle's four ovules were fertilized and that one of them developed into twins.
When doctors explained the details of this new pregnancy, and that they had five babies on the way, Adam spilled his hot drink and began to tremble. Meanwhile, Danielle had a completely different reaction: she laughed hysterically due to the shock, and she couldn't stop laughing. Nobody receives the news of expecting not just twins but quintuplets that would not be shocked. Such report carries with it both joy and uneasiness.
DANIELLE HAD TO EAT 4500 DAILY CALORIES
Danielle had to increase her food intake, considering that she had five other fetuses to feed apart from herself. The increase in food intake was crucial as she had to get as many nutrients as possible to satisfy her fetuses and herself. It was some gigantic kind of feeding. Speaking to Fit magazine in 2016, Danielle said there were times during her pregnancy that she had to consume as much as 4,500 calories daily. She had a dietitian who allowed her to eat anything as much as possible to be able to meet up with the daily intake needed to satisfy her.
THE BABIES ARRIVED BY C-SECTION
The birth of the quintuples was scheduled to be performed by cesarean section at 28 weeks when each weighed about two pounds to two and a half pounds. This type of intervention is the most common in multiple pregnancies. If you are correct with the arithmetic, they still had twelve solid weeks to attain maturity.
