Now We Know How to Cook The Best Foods From The Cinematographic World

If you are anything like me then you love food. And while cinema hasn’t evolved enough to provide viewers with the smell and taste of what is shown on the screen, sometimes pictures are worth enough to understand that something is really tasty. Over the past years there have been many movie scenes where food is the main character, so let’s dig deep into the best dishes ever shown on the screen!

20. RATATOUILLE (THE MOVIE) | RATATOUILLE (THE DISH)

We can all be a bit iffy about having rats in the kitchen, however, Remi from “Ratatouille” seems to know what he is doing. This traditional French recipe has been passed on through generations, and after being in the oven for hours, the thinly sliced veggies just taste like heaven! You can try it out with this recipe!

19. HARRY POTTER AND THE HALF-BLOOD PRINCE | BUTTERBEER

While the series of “Harry Potter” has gifted us with different types of food that are served in the magical world, one that always seems to make the characters eager for the taste is Butterbeer. Being just a mix of milk, sugar, butter, and some sweet toppings, it is definitely a recipe worth trying! Why not brew your own Butterbeer?

18. LADY AND THE TRAMP | SPAGHETTI, AND MEATBALLS

When this movie was released, no one could have expected that one of the most romantic movie scenes ever to be made would be about two stray dogs eating scraps, but here we are! The spaghetti and meatballs that the two love-puppies share in the movie seem to be as tasty as if it was just served it at the restaurant.

17. THE EMPEROR’S NEW GROOVE | KRONK’S SPINACH PUFFS

Probably one of the most iconic characters in children's movies is Kronk, and his passion for cooking just makes me relate to him on another level! His spinach puffs are his most popular dish, and after you try out this recipe you will understand why. The crunch of the pastry mixed with the tasty fillings is just to die for!

16. THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA: THE LION, THE WITCH, AND THE WARDROBE | TURKISH DELIGHT

If you have never tasted a Turkish Delight before, let me tell you, you are missing out! This chewy, sweet, and decadent dessert has been made famous across the world on its own device, and even though it might look confusing, it is actually pretty easy to make. Check out this recipe and give your loved ones a sweet treat just like the one from Narnia!

15. LORD OF THE RINGS: THE FELLOWSHIP OF THE RING | LEMBAS BREAD

Should you ever be in a situation where you need to travel hundreds of miles to destroy a ring in a volcano, you might want to pack some Lembas Bread to eat on the way there, as just one small bite will make you full for hours. You can check the steps on how to make this elvish dish here!

14. PULP FICTION | $5 SHAKE

While the movie “Pulp Fiction” has given us numerous food scenes (e.g. the quarter pounder with cheese), the most memorable one is definitely when Vincent is shocked that a simple milkshake can cost $5. The thing is, when you try it out yourself, you will realize that maybe it should be even more expensive because it is THAT good!

13. CHOCOLAT | SPICED HOT DARK CHOCOLATE

The movie “Chocolat” brought together two of the best things in the world: chocolate recipes and Johnny Depp. There are many health benefits to mixing chocolate and spices, however, the real reason why you should try this recipe is simple: it is incredibly tasty. With the weather getting colder, keep cozy with a nice and warm cup of hot chocolate!

12. BURNT | ANY OF THE FOOD SHOWN IN THE MOVIE

If you love stories about chefs, then “Burnt” is the one for you. If you love food, then you can still watch it too, because the dozens of recipes in it will leave your mouth watering! In case you want to test your cooking skills, this website has all the recipes shown in the movie. What are you waiting for?

11. BABETTE’S FEAST | QUAIL IN PUFF PASTRY (MADE WITH DUCK FAT)

Probably one of the most acclaimed food movies is “Babette’s Feast”, which is set in the 19th century. Offering us the beauty and sensuality of the French cuisine, with a side of humility, the movie has brought food cinematography to a new level. And if you want to try one dish from this movie, we truly recommend this one!

10. LAPUTA: CASTLE IN THE SKY | MEATBALL STEW

Any film made by the Ghibli Studios is bound to have numerous scenes revolving around food, and one of them is “Laputa: Castle in the Sky”. The meatball stew that is shown in one scene of this animation movie will leave your mouth watering, and the best part is that you can make it yourself at home following this recipe

9. PONYO | RAMEN BOWL

Another wonder from Ghibli Studios is the movie “Ponyo”, which follows the story of a five-year-old boy, Sōsuke, and the water princess, Ponyo. Just like in the previous movie we mentioned, the food in the movie is incredible, and the dish that takes the top is the ramen bowl that made Ponyo gasp - check out the recipe here!

8. BOB’S BURGERS | EVERY BURGER IN THE ANIMATED SHOW

If you love cartoon shows, then you might have watched an episode or two of “Bob’s Burgers”, and perhaps you ever wondered what the burgers he serves are made of. Well, worry not, as there are several recipes online to make replicas of the various incredible burgers on the show, so why not try out one of these?

7. JULIE & JULIA | TOMATO AND BASIL BRUSCHETTA

One of the best movies about food ever made is “Julie & Julia”. The movie revolves around a chef and her book, and a blogger who challenges herself to make all the recipes in the cookbook in one year. Even though there are several incredible recipes in the movie, we have chosen this one for you to cook at home.

6. 30 ROCK | LOVER’S DELIGHT SUNDAY

If you are ever looking for what to eat on Valentine’s Day, you can always follow the suggestion presented on “30 Rock” and try out the Lover’s Delight Sunday, which was also described as “filthy” in the series. However, there is nothing filthy about it, unless you think truffles with expensive chocolate and vanilla ice cream might be something disgusting.

5. IT’S ALWAYS SUNNY IN PHILADELPHIA | GRILLED CHARLIE

We have been blessed with “It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia” for the past fifteen years, and throughout those years the series has given us some strange recipes (remember Rum Ham?), but it has also given us some good comfort foods to try. One of those is the grilled sandwich they called Grilled Charlie - check out this tasty recipe!

4. CREED | PHILLY CHEESESTEAK

When Michal B. Jordan’s character first bites the Philly Cheesesteak in the movie “Creed” you can feel how amazing that sandwich tastes. While it is another of the incredible foods found in movies, it is actually an easy one to make at home. If you ever want to feel like a fighter, you can follow this amazing recipe here.

3. BACK TO SCHOOL | HORS D’OEUVRES SANDWICH

This recipe for the Hors d’Oeuvres sandwich comes from the classic film “Back to School”. The easygoing, however a bit unconventional, way the sandwich is made clearly shows the personality and charisma of the character itself. I mean, who else would prefer a nice big sandwich instead of those fancy little finger food? I know I would!

2. HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER | SUMBITCHES

After maybe hundreds of episodes of “How I Met Your Mother”, the mother is introduced to the viewers, and she does it with style and culinary skills! These cookies were the way into the inner circle of Ted Mosby and, not only did they make mom a part of the group, but it also conquered the stomachs of everyone involved.

1. LEMONY SNICKET’S A SERIES OF UNFORTUNATE EVENTS | PASTA PUTTANESCA

During this wonderful movie, the Baudelaire orphans cook pasta puttanesca for Count Olaf, who was not very impressed with the dish itself. Well, rest assured that he was wrong, as this is an incredible recipe to cook at home and share with your loved ones, and don’t worry, because none of them will be as rude as the Count!
